What I mean is, when you make a signature with the render, you have to take away the background and just keep the acual picture. How do you cut around the edges? Unless someone can do it for me. I'm using this picture:
http://planetrenders.net/renders/displayimage.php?pos=-753I need the picture cut away from the background. I need it big enough so it can fit on a signature and still have room for words. But don't make the acual siggy if you want to cut.
So thanks!

Right click > copy image location > in gimp > file > open location > paste > ok.
That will give a perfectly cut render.

Funky. I guess IE doesn't have that.
But firefox does.

Okay so...I guess the copies mean the same thing. Oh, what about Copy Visible?

You can try copy visible, but I don't think it's going to work.
If you don't want to download FF, just right click the image, save as > save to your desktop > open it up in gimp.

Yah, I already have it saved. I just need the black background gone.

Well, for me if it's saved as a .png, when I open it up there's no black.

ahh rendering, this is something you should learn if your don't like getting all confused use the path tool to draw a path around the immage and then just cut it out and paste on a transparent layer, you should zoom in 400-800 and take your time or you will get a sloppy render

He's talking about an already rendered picture, but is confused how to import the rendered picture without the default black background from copy/paste.

Yep. And and I re-saved it as png, but it still has that .... background.

Okay make sure you have an account and you are viewing the full sized version of the render when you save it. Save as .png
If for some reason the black is still there just follow these steps
Open the image
layer>transparency>add alpha channel
Select fuzzy select tool
click on an area that is black (this will select the areas of black around the render)
hit delete
it should be transparent now
save as .png

if worst comes to worst you can always use the eraser, just takes a while.

I made this. I think it's okay. Not as good as the pros.
