Dragon - Cuz it doesnt degrade and looks good as full set
Armadyl - Best ranged armour and doesnt degrade
Other - Splitbark, it gives better melee protection so can protect a bit from arrows too.

They have insanely high stats.

Melee: Bandos - Expensive, but it doesn't degrade, its useful for slayer, God Wars, and many other boss monsters.
Ranged: Tank setup - for the main things i prefer to do with range, i like using my sara d'hide and zamy bracers (if I haven't sold them) along with niet helm and torag's legs.
Magic: Ahrim's - I NEVER use this skill for combat, but i know a lot of the truely elite PKer's use Ahrim's for their Ice spells, and because they are like maxed in melee skills.

It really depends on what type of bonus tbh... But I picked bandos, void range, and Zurials.

Bandos - it looks cool
Armadyl - it looks cool
Infinity - it looks cool

Melee - Melee Void, since you can hit friggin hard with it.

Range - Tanker Setup, good defence + attack.

Magic - Ahrims, good melee defence and magic bonus.

For Melee I use a mixture of equipment, sometimes a dragon square and rune armour, other times barrows with rune defender.

Ranged I usually use karils skirt, Saradomin body, Zamorak vambraces, and Guthix coif.

When I actually use magic, I use ahrims.

Here's the best sets of armor for many different purposes. No one set gives the best bonus, it's usually a mix of items.

Range-Morrigan's Simply because "Dragonhide" was too broad for me
Mage-Infinity of course

bandos and void melee for melee
void range for ranged
and 3rd age for mage(looks so freaking awsome!)
