Excellent for a first, and I could not even attempt to do this.

Looks very nice, but i suggest you spread out some pieces of grass more. A few blades look very very long tongue.gif

Looks good from a distance/

Though it is kind of plain.

and the copy and paste is pretty bad TBH. especially on the tree. the grass also gets too repetitive.
The clouds are also awkwardly shaped and the tree's light shaded lines aren't looking good.

the grass on the right corner looks weird
but its an awesome one for a first
keep up the good work

4/10..

It's boring... And all you did was make a tree trunk, and clouds. The leafs in the tree and the grass is C&P. C&P'ed grass doesn't look good.

That's usually what a first pixel is wink.gif

You can't say the clouds are bad though, they are very very good for a starter

I could be wrong, but it looks like the same piece from the guide you used.
Darkness
Are you saying i ripped the pic from the guide...duhh!

Its ok.
The tree needs work, try NOT doing Copy and Pasta leaves and grass, because it looks absolutely terrible.
Try shading the trees and grass as a solid piece rather than individual blades.
Shading on the tree needs a lot of work, the shading is slightly contradictory to the shading on the grass.
the clouds are also a little weird, and are too transparent, they should be more opaque.
I suggest you keep on practicing/working etc. and try again.

also using the excuse that "It's my first" isn't exactly good, just because it's your first pixel doesn't mean it couldn't have been better.

Yea i thought the same thing when i saw it, the clouds look especialy familliar but i just checked it and its not, the one in the guide has a bigger tree and a flatter horrison so good job on the pixel darkness smile.gif

its ok theres not much besides the things ardy stated wrong with it but now try something of your own and just go from there

If you pixel all of the grass instead of copy+paste it will look much better wink.gif

This issue, as is the case with this pixel and with most beginners with pixel art is the lack of depth. My main suggestion to you is to really acknowledge layers to create your pixels. Think about how light hits a surface. Try to also consider things such as 'what does a tree actually look like', did you take a picture and use a reference or did you go from that tutorial because that tutorial was probably done inside the persons head biggrin.gif. It's really just thinking about what something actually looks like and considering everything inside the piece from shape to texture.

Obviously a style can vary what you do, but that is something that can be changed. Your still very early into your pixelling days so this is the perfect time to correct anything. Else you will get into silly habits of making people look like they have massive heads for example or that grass for instance is all the same, when clearly it isn't.

Your quite good at following instructions, i know that for a fact. Just because of the tutorial, although i must say you might want to ignore parts of what it said.

It's way too awesome to call you a meteokre. 9/10 biggrin.gif
