not sure if it should be here or one of the other two.. but whatever, how much would replacing the wireless... whatever that is (i suck with computers) cost for an msi wind notebook, does anyone know general price?

The built in wireless card doesn't work? If the computer is new and under warranty, call up the manufacturer and get them to fix it.

Since the Wind doesn't have a PCMCIA slot, you could buy a USB wireless receiver. But the first option is the best.

Price could range anywhere from $20-50.

well uhm, i might have spilled coke on it at some point, so, that is probably the reason it stopped working right after that

This right here is pretty cheap and should work if you're on a budget.

i have this (the thing on the bottom) and i'm pretty sure thats what connects the desktop to the internet (although a minute ago i took it out and it kept working... but it used to stop when i took it out, so i dunno) and i went plug it into my wind, and when i was in the configuration stuff, it has device status and it says (this is before i plugged it in mind you)
"This device is working properly.

If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter."

Well, the little pole thing that has a usb thing is what is probably plugged into the desktop. If the internet still works even though that is unplugged, it also has an ethernet cable hooked up to it.

Get the pole thing and plug it into your laptop, then get the installation cd that it came with and install the drivers. If you can't find that, follow these directions.

You can also take the dongle out of the stand, then plug it in. Most people do for laptops.

One problem with doing this is the Wireless NIC is larger than most USB devices and can block other nearby ports.
