It's one of the best weapons from 60 to 69 Attack. The only one better is a dragon scimitar, and since scimitars hit much less often and have a lousy spec, you may find yourself using an anchor for higher level monsters, especially ones with less crush defence and more slash def.

Edit: I think crush is good against plate mail. I can't say the same for rangers, unfortunately, or people in chainbodies. Mages are easy to hit, so I wouldn't worry about that part, but since they're so easy the dragon scimitar is definitely a better choice.
Barrelchest anchors are faster than they're made out to be. Upon release they were almost as slow as a two-handed sword, but now they're faster than battleaxes and almost as fast as a longsword.

Barrelchest Anchor is 200K and you need to complete The Great Brain Robbery.

Personally, I love my anchor, and it's special attack rocks.

The anchor is a very good 'investment'. It hits pretty hard, and the special attack is pretty good as well.

Notice why I put investment in commas? If you die with the anchor, money will be dropped instead. This means when you don't want it anymore you can die with it and pick up the money from your grave. Then whenever you want it back use the money to fix it.

In my opinion, yes, the barrelchest anchor is worth it because it's fun to use with friends as a joke, good for crush attacks, and looks cool.

I have a anchor too and yes i have beaten great brain robbery but I can't get it repaired for 230k because i am too poor and i can't afford it

70 prayer and lots of other skills blew away all my money (i had 4m btw)
