ok i've noticed that alot of the songs on the iTunes store are $1.29 now. why is this? i heard a while ago that songs were supposed to go down not up...

Apple finds that if a song is very popular, people are willing to pay the extra price.

Stupid idea, I know, but it works.

but what happened to lowering the prices? huh.gif

The 69c prices are for not popular songs.

Yeah, the new 99p (1.29 for you guys) songs are the more popular ones.

Quite frankly, I haven't seen any 59p songs around iTunes.

Lucky me who mostly listens to music not many people have heard of tongue.gif *Random Apple though* Hopefully WWDC brings us something...

Also, a lot of songs that were 99cents just went up to $1.29 because they feel they can charge you extra for drm-free music. You also have the choice of paying 30cents to convert your 99cent song into a drm-free song.

I've never seen a 99p song either...

iTunes was great because it was 79p for a song, £7.99 for an album, what they are doing I've no idea.
