I started a forum of my own and have a few idea's for it.

Its a runescape based forum, but, not your everyday one. since this has many.. many other games spoken about on it. Well i made the forum. got over 112 members. i think about 58 were fully active (came on each day, or every other day)

But then people were complaining about spam.. and the name of it was lame. and the provider was crap. and i had boring images. Then the main mod who helped me.. quit.

So im doing a whole new one, by myself.

The thing is. im lame at coding.

I wouldn't recommend appointing a new admin to your site just to add a few images. Allowing someone whom you don't have much trust for to administrate your forum could backfire. Although I'd hope no one here would screw you over, just throwing it out there as a possibility. It's better for us to walk you through any process that way you'll learn how and will rely on others less.

Because your forum is brand new, I'd look into different forum software with more options and a larger community for assistance, styles, and modifications. I recommend phpBB while InvisionFree is a popular recommendation here too.

Proboards doesn't allow you to edit template files much if I remember things right, so I'm not too sure on changing the icons unrelated to the board style.

I recommend you use a different forum software, such as iPBFree or Freeforums

Don't use InvisionFree. That company has stopped updating it and almost stopped supporting it for a reason: They made ZetaBoards and ZetaBoards is better. (You'll have to go to ZB Theme Zone for themes.) Don't use Freeforums unless you are very computer illiterate and can't even copy/paste a theme into the right text boxes. The only pro for Freeforums that Zetaboards doesn't have is the ability to just pick from a couple hundred themes they have right in the Admin CP with no scripting or anything. I haven't used iPBFree yet, but it looks downright ugly. Another service that looks promising, though, is MyBBest. The site is transferring to new servers now, so you can't set up a forum right now, but from the 30 minutes I spent messing around with it, I think it's pretty good.

My recommendation is ZetaBoards, but MyBBest probably has a couple features that you'll never use, like RSS feeds, because it's programmed differently. Zetaboards is smoother, easier to use, and more customizable (if you know how), so it gets my vote. Oh, yeah, and MyBBest doesn't have advertisements either, but I don't think that will last for real long...a year tops, I'm thinking. ZetaBoards ads don't get in the way of using the forum anyway, and they don't have any popups, so it's not a huge deal to me anyway.

Of course, if you want to pay $10 a month for your forum, go with IPB, but I doubt you do.
