...... That's not really a rating......

It sucks. Don't expect to get anything good out of a $500 PC. Basically it has everything that redmonke said.

In fact, my $800 PC that I built last year is better than that. Mine uses parts just as outdated, and it's taking into account the sharp drops in price that's been going on lately.

I like my computer...... my dad, who is a major computer geek, said that it was really good for the price.

Meh, it's ok for the price. It could be better, though.

K. The thing is, I only had $500 dollars. I would have to wait almost a year before I could get any more money (birthday money and gifts, Christmas money and gifts, Chinese New Year Money.)

My laptop has the same video card :-) its an okay price but building a computer yourself would be cheaper and since your dad is a computer geek he can help u out

Meh this is the problem with society today.. The mindset of if its not expensive it must suck.

I see nothing wrong with the system the GPU is weak though.

@redmonke

I would hardly call a C2Q dated just yet.

There's nothing wrong with it by 2007 standards maybe, but technology moves forward fast and that is hardly eligible to be called "good". Besides, price is a more-or-less dependable factor of how good something is. If it's under $600 there's a pretty good chance it's using outdated or budget parts. Q8200, blegh.

It's actually good for the price, except the graphics card sucks. Just upgrade the graphics card.

Exactly.

In fact, my $800 PC......

$800 is 60% of my computer. It is 60% better. What I am asking, is How good is my computer for the price I got it at?
Caboose
You've actually bought it? You could have done better, a lot better, by building it yourself. I mean, for a prebuilt it's decent for the price, but it's dated, which explains the price.

(aka deflation)

Read more carefully next time slanty.gif And even if it was, it would be about 40% better, not 60.

Yea I know I ment that $800-$500 is $300, which is 60% of $500.
EDIT: After talking to my dad, he said that WE ARE ESSENTIALLY TO LAZY TO BUILD A COMPUTER tongue.gif, AND WE NEEDED A WARRANTY ON THE COMPUTER.
King Aragorn
Why need warranty?
You arent going to go parachuting with it? tongue.gif
Or overclock?
Or maybe take it with on diving or outside in the rain?

80% problems are the ones appearing in software. (Viruses)
Its 100% software-problems out of problems if the computer stands still and no earthquake or catastrophe. (Not very obvious with catastrophe...)

A self-build can save you a bit, or get same price, but a better build. (You wont get many computers with decent gfx card at low price in shops)

My dad wanted me to have a warranty.
