Alright, we need a good super-hero RP 'round here. Basically, we're all in New-York City in 2025, trying to live with our powers. Hero or Villain? You decide. No capes. This isn't something from a Marvel comic, we're going to be original here. Choose something here and make your application. We can make the story advance with our overpowered prodigies.

Mutation
If your powers come from mutation, then you have a lot of possibilities. So, what will it be; radioactive spiders? Please, try and be original yet realistic. We don't need ten web-slinging guys that obtained their powers from falling into radioactive waste.

Technology
Technology doesn't necessarily mean that you have a super-suit or something along those lines. Be original. I'm pretty sure the idea of a walking arsenal hasn't been overused.

Alien
No Clark Kents, please. I'm serious about this being realistic.

2. Even if you can lift a bus, I'm sure you can still bleed like any other freak out there.

Appearance: His black hair is sleeked backwards, and a small strand of hair always hangs loosely in his face. He has steely blue eyes which have deep purple circles underneath, due to lack of sleep. He has a black coat and pants which he wears over his bullet-proof vest weaved in titanium. A wide grin is always stretched across his face while "on the job". Underneath his coat, there are two silenced pistols. He usually has a small assault rifle with him and a wide variety of knifes are concealed on him.
Origin of Powers: Technology
Powers: He's an informatics genius, as well as an expert in combat. He also happens to be a dangerous psychopath.
Background: A dangerous psychopath who robs banks with a wide variety of weapons and a usually hired team of mercenaries. Nothing is known of his past, he has only been rampant for a few months.

Appearance: Short, black, messy hair, but no facial hair. Brownish-red eyes. Pale skin. Tall and really skinny-looking, with his bones sticking out. Sharp nails and sharp teeth. Powers: (Say how you got 'em in the "Background" section) Strength, speed, agility, and almost invincibility (But not quite).
Background: Les is quite the disturbing individual. He is quite forgetful and amnesia strikes him often, so most of his history is unknown. Because of his mutation (Which he's not sure how he got, or when), he is strong, quick, and agile. And it's almost impossible for him to die, almost. He cannot feel physical pain (Though he can feel mental pain), but all this comes at a price. He can feel both the physical and mental pain of all around him. You'd think this would keep him from killing people, but it doesn't. He has an unquenchable hunger and an insatiable desire to kill people. He cannot control the urge. He needs to feed on flesh and blood, and he can only feed on meat. Other foods do not quench his hunger, and he hurls them up. And this is the only thing that kills him. Starvation. If he does not feed, he dies. Though he is not evil. He does not want all of this. He tries his best to use his powers for good, feeding on only animals, and occasionally, villains. His whole life, as far as he can remember, has been spent trying to find a cure, but he still, has not, found one to this day. EDIT: Although he is nearly invincible, he is not unharmable. He can be hurt enough where he is too weak to be useful, and this causes him to need to feed sooner, causing the starvation process to speed up.

Background: Lived a middle-class life as a college/university teacher until he was 35. He was working on experiments that the school didn't approve of, and then used most of his savings to fund his work. He got into debt and began secretly stealing money from the school cafeteria and money earned from sporting events there. A corrupt person who helped run the school heard about what he was doing and blackmailed him into killing a student. In the end, it was said that during class safety precautions hadn't been taken, and a sophomore had ended up dead. Frans couldn't live with himself and quit teaching. By that time, however, he had found a way to cancel gravity's effect on an object, and if the object was alive, to have the mental ability to turn the power on and off, meaning he could fly at will. The situation caused him to leave his family to experiment with his powers.

Appearance:Guilders have a build similar to that of humans, only they have a large jewel in the palms of their hands (explaned in powers).
Origin of Powers: Alien
Powers: The Guilders have powers from the jewels known as Vyren, already in their hands at birth. These powers differ for all Guilders. Asyrr can use his Vyren to tap into the minds of others and basically screw up a body's functions beyond repair.
Background: Asyrr was born on the Guilder Vessel "Mortress Veta," one of the exploration ships in Earth's galaxy. The ship was lost, and out of contact range with the Guilder homeworld. When Asyrr was about 230 Earth years old, Mortress Veta crashed onto a large red planet, larger than all the others in the Solar System. Asyrr was the only escapee. He drifted, lost for several months until he got sucked into Earth's orbit and crash landed somewhere in New Mexico desert. He left his ship, and looked for sancuary. He lives on Earth still in hiding.

Powers: Ability to control electricity and regeneration of body cells and tissue. Enhanced agility.
Background: At school, he got into a bit of a fight with his high school bullies. While they were fighting, a teacher is spotted. The bullies run away while Gray is on the ground, 'mocking them'. Gray is sent to detention where he stays for a long period of time after school. When he finally gets out, gets on his bike, his bullies are waiting for him outside the school gate, also on bikes. They chase after him through the rainy night and end up on a small hill area after Gray attempts to cut through a shortcut through a forested area. Below the hill is a large and dirty lake, where no one is ever spotted near it. His bike is weakening and the dirt path is slippery. Gray's bike swerves off the track and him and the bike land into the water. For a moment, he's blinded and bleeding from the head. Although, he's unconcious, somehow, he can still feel the water rushing into his head. He opens his eyes under the green and mucky water and screams. He gets out of the lake and stays on the grass. For a few moments, he's gasping for air. After his recovery, he figures out that his head is fully healed. He looks around and sees a pipe with radioactive waste leaking into the lake. Gray's head becomes filled with thoughts of fear until it is interrupted by a couple of rocks hitting his head. He turns around and at the top of the hill, his bullies are waiting. Gray feels annoyed and an instinct pulls him towards them. He darts up the hill and fights with them. After a while, he ends up one on one with the last bully. He aims his palm at the bully and a spark of lightning blasts from his hand. The bullied is knocked backwards and out cold. Gray runs home scared, where his parents are waiting. His parents give him a scolding, but it was normal for him. He is angered and suddenly feels a rush of power through his body. His parents are killed by him and he is terrified once he's back to normal. He just leaves their bodies in the closet and goes to his room to sleep.

Appearance: He has white hair which goes down to his back and hangs over his shoulders. He's always serious looking but that's also due to his mutation. He wears a black covering which is the black alien. (Sort of like the Black Spiderman but without the design but he wears a black coat and pant over it.)

Powers: (Say how you got 'em in the "Background" section) He has super strength, his suit gives him super speed and skin and he can tell what a person's thinking upon seeing them. Not only does it give him super skin it also gives him a force field about one inch thick which is not visible. He can tone it down to any size and he keeps it extremely small because it's easier to manage and equally as strong. But when someone tries to touch him they "feel" his skin. His last power is that the remaining alien formed into a sword which is stronger than any material on Earth. (He's now an expert swordsman).
Background: He was smokin some bud with his home mates when some flyin donkeys. He was part of scientist team studying an ancient life form they picked up from Pluto. The experiment went wrong and the Alien broke the cage and attacked everyone. Upon seeing the brave Bryon Shay fighting back he mutated with him in a painful process. They closed the facility and sent Bryon to a questioning/therapy facility and about a year after the incident Bryon started feeling the powers within him. The force field was discovered when he was cutting meat and he almost cut his finger. About a month after that the black suit started to appear and since that time he's gone into hiding, providing good deeds when necessary but also stealing to live.

Discorving a new drug that temporarly improved your singing, Joe used it on a daily basis. Getting addicted to the drug, Joe kept using the drug more and more each day, destroying his ability to sing high notes as it would create a sonic blast of sound. The drug also had some weird side effects for Joe to be able to bend relaity during the night. (Like lets say your walking down a dark hallway, Joe can make it look like there is a shadow or a demon walking near you, and make breathing sounds and such.But its not real, it just messes with your mind.)

You know, technology doesn't just have to be where you wear a suit. It could be where you have robotic implants, or nanobots which float through your bloodstream and give you powers, or you could just be a robot.

Also, you forgot another type of superhero, Aliath. Magic! There have been plenty of magical heroes in literature.

"I've always wanted to say that! I mean... The timing is just too perfect, huh? Swiveling around in the chair like that... C'mon, at least I didn't stick my pinky into the corner of my mouth!" he continued chuckling to himself, the Mayor stood very still. Jake drew a silenced automatic from his pocket so quickly that the entire gesture was blurred. In a half-second, the Mayor hadn't realized that his arm was lined with holes. Of course, he was to paralyzed in fear to even whimper.

"Alright, you're not that fun," declared Jake. "I'd better get this over with."

The Mayor opened his mouth to scream, but Jake's knives flashed and the heavyset man was clutching at his throat- gasping for air. Jake removed a small video camera from underneath the desk, and positioned it on a tripod; facing the Mayor. He punched a few keys into his keyboard, and the live stream of video was automatically being broadcasted on national television. With giddy excitement, Jake walked out in front of the camera. He playfully wrapped his arm around the man's shoulder- who was still gasping for air, his throat slit.

"Hi mom!" Jake joked, waving towards the camera. "I'm on TV!" he burst out into laughter, he was having the time of his life. But of course, it would get just better. He couldn't wait for the SWAT team to raid the entire building. He also couldn't wait to hear the deafening blast of the bomb he had rigged underneath the empty desk. Turning towards the Mayor, who started convulsing, he said: "Gotta jet, man. Maybe we can hook up some other time? It'd be fun." With that, he shattered the window by firing into it, and shot a cable across the street to another building. With exaggerated movement, he dramatically launched himself from the window and slid to the building adjacent.

Background: Alex was only a small boy. He was taken into a insane asylum for about 15 years and he didn't know why. He was in a comma for 10 of those years, and when he was released. He found out about his powers. He was injected with some kind of venom, and made his cells seperate and attach when ever and however he wants. Ah, finally the vast world of super-heroes gets acknowledged. The role-play looks extremely enticing to me, although I have some suggestions and thoughts to express. Clearing up Mutation, it basically, in comic terms, is the category that numerous factors that give heroes/villains their powers, fall into. Mutation isn't limited to a particular something, someone or a chemical base's effect on you - 'the hero/villain'. It can also include being born with a particular power. Think X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, The Flash etc. Also note that if your character is injected or takes drugs to enhance his or her natural human senses and skills, this is not Mutation. Instead you become more of a 'super-soldier'. Think Captain America.

Might I also add a suggestion, for Magic to be included in the accepted categories. Someone else suggested this and I'll elaborate on it. Magic is a vital aspect of the comic and super-hero world and should be recognized as such. Wonder Woman and Thor, two major players in the DC and Marvel-verse, both hail from this category, with magical and mythological ancestry. Think Zatanna Zatara, Zachary Zatara, Dr Fate, Doctor Strange etc. It can also serve as a weakness to some people, for example: Superman - who is immune to magic.

As a last suggestion, I also should say that this role-play should also include the 'occupations' if you might say, of the non super-powered heroes and villains. They too, are major characters in comics. Vigilantes and Rogues you might call them. Think Batman, The Question, Huntress, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing etc. Oh, and a Weakness section in the app would be well done.

Other than the above, I'm all in for joining 2025. I believe I'll take the stance of neutral in this role-play.

Background: At school, he got into a bit of a fight with his high school bullies. While they were fighting, a teacher is spotted. The bullies run away while Gray is on the ground, 'mocking them'. Gray is sent to detention where he stays for a long period of time after school. When he finally gets out, gets on his bike, his bullies are waiting for him outside the school gate, also on bikes. They chase after him through the rainy night and end up on a small hill area after Gray attempts to cut through a shortcut through a forested area. Below the hill is a large and dirty lake, where no one is ever spotted near it. His bike is weakening and the dirt path is slippery. Gray's bike swerves off the track and him and the bike land into the water. For a moment, he's blinded and bleeding from the head. Although, he's unconcious, somehow, he can still feel the water rushing into his head. He opens his eyes under the green and mucky water and screams. He gets out of the lake and stays on the grass. For a few moments, he's gasping for air. After his recovery, he figures out that his head is fully healed. He looks around and sees a pipe with radioactive waste leaking into the lake. Gray's head becomes filled with thoughts of fear until it is interrupted by a couple of rocks hitting his head. He turns around and at the top of the hill, his bullies are waiting. Gray feels annoyed and an instinct pulls him towards them. He darts up the hill and fights with them. After a while, he ends up one on one with the last bully. He aims his palm at the bully and a spark of lightning blasts from his hand. The bullied is knocked backwards and out cold. Gray runs home scared, where his parents are waiting. His parents give him a scolding, but it was normal for him. He is angered and suddenly feels a rush of power through his body. His parents are killed by him and he is terrified once he's back to normal. He just leaves their bodies in the closet and goes to his room to sleep.

I'm not that fond of the whole magic thing for this RP. I want it to have a certain level of realism. But if you insist, go ahead. I'll make some exceptions.

IC: Gray sat on his bed facing the T.V. His reaction was emotionless from what he had just saw. The mayor was killed by a random villain. Somehow, Gray felt no sympathy for the mayor, but felt a small admiration for the man who had killed him. After all, an ordinary nice mayor wouldn't let some large lake be polluted with radioactive waste. It's how Gray had gotten his wretched powers in the first place. And it just gets worse whenever he's angered. He'll just be forced to stay emotionless for his life's period.

"Good, that idiot is dead," Gray muttered under his breath. "I didn't even want these stupid abilities, they're too much of a problem. It's only been a whole week since I took out the bullies and murdered my parents and I'm pissed."

Gray's face became distorted to a horrible smell. The smell of a corpse. "Crap, I should have gotten rid of these bodies," he said to himself. "I'll need to find a way to get them into the dumpster somehow. So freakin' nasty."

Hate to break this to you but you joined in March. That qualifies as new. Most people don't get out of the 'new' stage until at least six months or more have gone by since they started actively roleplaying.

Anytime he wants he can concentrate and his body will slowly change to that person's appearance with that person's clothes included.
Background: When he was 22 and in the military, he signed up to be a volunteer for a special weapons program. When he woke up, he was in a morgue lying on an examining table. He escaped and he learnt that it has been five years since he volunteered and that he was the only experiment ever to become successful. He was the ultimate killing machine.
