I think that total awesomeness means when they used all of their terrain and pixel count so they will never have to update, thus making the release date 2+ years from now depending on the quality of the terrain/gameplay.
I realize that was probably sarcastic, but technically there's no such thing as a terrain or pixel count. A game developer can keep adding squares of terrain for as long as they have space to store it. And considering that, in my experience, terrains are usually stored as greyscale images, any developer could have one heck of a lot of terrain without using up their space (a whole lot more than any game developer has ever used), and even if they did use up their space, they could just add more, which Jagex has done quite a few times with RuneScape.
And there's no such thing as pixel count in the sense you're using it. 3D files are not stored as pixels like image files are, they're stored by where the vertices, edges, and faces should be when displayed on screen. They're only converted to pixels by the game engine based on the screen of the user, and it only does that for whatever is in view of the user.

wow if jagex is going to release it before 2010 they have really been keeping it a close secret. hardly anything has been leaked, just a bit of concept art on paper. i was prepared to wait another 1-2 years for it
I think you need to take a look at these pages:
http://www.mechhelp.net/info/http://www.mechscapeworld.com/forums/index...c=6402&st=0 The second one is several months outdated, and the first one is still missing some information even though it was just updated last week. I'm still working on it.
There's still not near as much information as we would like, but there's a whole lot more than just Concept Art.
