Really wished I could've used more colors.

All I can say is: This is definitely going to get a lot of votes.
The blending is amazing and the pixel overall is just awesome.

Can you post how long that took you please?

This took forever. It wasn't the shading and AA that took so long, but getting the outline. Well, maybe they did take as long, but they were more fun.

I'm not sure exactly how long but I'd guess at least 6 hours, probably more.

Pixel images are made of pixels, or squares, right? So all images have jagged edges (see first image) but if we were to put some more pixels; which are the shades between the line and the background; you blur the jagged edges. That's what AA is; blurring the edges.

An important thing to note is that you only blur the edges:

This is bad AA:
