Yes, but discussing such things is against forum rules. Anyway, what's SE?

Sony Ericsson..

Anyway.. Okay for the rules but why is the guy making a fuss out of it if you can get it pirated?

Why should they?

Because people worked hard to make it, and you shouldn't expect people to work for free.

But that's just my point.

Sorry the economy revolves around capitalism. I don't see how you can hold Apple accountable for that.

I also believe that Steve Jobbs said that "You can't make a good computer for under $1,000." or something to that effect.
Hate to tell you Steve: Microsoft has been doing it for quite some time now wink.gif

He sells the mac mini, which is sub 1000 and many refurbished products.

You're making this up, because there is something called a profit margin. In order to make money, one must have production and associated disbursements, and must sell it at a higher rate, to gain a PROFIT. If you think their production disbursements are over $1000 for each product, that's idiotic. a) they would lost money on a mac mini, or b) They would probably sell the Mac Pro for a higher cost.

Microsoft doesn't make computers. They make software.

Apple makes both.

QUOTE
I wont. I didn't pay for an overpriced iTouch in the first place. And you avoid the question. Does anybody else pay for software updates to their MP3 Player/Gaming Console? Microsoft? No. Sony? No. Nintendo? No. Blackberry? No. The rest of the economical world? No.

Apple doesn't charge for software updates, we established that. You're ignorant, because you never went out and bought one. Blackberry doesn't update their OSs on previous models. So when you get one, you're stuck. So is Nintendo, Microsoft AND Sony. Apple DOES. Instead of having OS 3 on an iPod Touch, you'll be stuck with 2 until you actually GO OUT AND BUY A NEW ONE. It's reciprocal to EACH of them.

Bug fixes are free.

Hate to break it to you, but the only thing Microsoft has to do with computer prices is the fact that they charge huge licensing fees that tack on $100 to the computer price.

What about Stone computers. But no, i did this in another topic. The best mac available on their website is something like £2000. I made a computer far more than twice as good for £800.

But the main thing that you need to understand here is that it's simply not another OS. It's a patch, with a few features thrown in. Say like... oh yeah, a service pack. Same kernel, same front end, same everything apart from a few extra bits you put in. It's not a new Operating System, by any stretch of the imagination, and don't be silly and just say 'But it sais OS3, idiot'. Calling something one thing doesn't make it that.

Microsoft sells computers?

And nobody noticed in years?

And..how would you know that?

To the people arguing about "ten fricken dollars": If anyone can afford an iPod Touch, I'm pretty sure they can afford the $10 for a new OS. If they can't, its likely because they can't find a way to get their money onto an iTunes (like me). If you can afford an iPod Touch but can't afford the $10 because you have to buy food, you have a priorities fail on your hands.

Oh, no I can afford it.
1. It is over-priced for what they are offering (IMO after trying it out for a couple of days).
2. When your mom takes all of your iTunes money and makes you buy her songs and put it on CD's, and doesn't pay you back for several weeks, yes it is a big deal.

I think you need to quit whining.
Once again $10 isn't much, and people using the iPhone put more money in Apple's pockets than those that use the iTouch.
If you think it's unfair, don't buy it, simple as that.

1. They don't work for free, and you should be glad that its $10 instead of having to buy a new model every year.
2. Have her set up her own account.

1. Don't buy it if you believe it's overpriced, and that is subjective. I mean, I believe that it's finely priced, and others who may buy it think that too.
2. The fact that your mother uses all of your iTunes credit doesn't undermine Apple's value. In fact, I could care less about the fact that you have 10 dollars. This is not my problem, it's yours, and we aren't debating this. I could care less about your life. Deal with her YOURSELF. It's YOUR problem.

Yeah, man. And if someone buys a used iPod they get no cash from that but if someone buys an iPhone used they still get money from AT&T(unless they use it on another carrier)

... I have no fight with apple? I think anyone that wants to spend $1k+ on Macs can, but IMO, PC's are just as good.
And, please, don't use metaphors that don't even relate to this discussion... Whine like a little girl? No. It is me claiming that Apple should lower their prices, which they have refused to do. So I will stick with PC's.

I hate to burst your bubble, but a PC stands for personal computer. A Mac can be a personal computer. I think you're talking about Windows, in the sense that it's an operating system.
