I found this awesome tutorial:

http://abduzeedo.com/amazing-photoshop-light-effect-10-steps

But I don't understand how to do Step 4, the color dodging.
Searched some information on it and tried some things, like blending of the ellipse shape, selected the color dodge option and making it totally yellow for some reason. pfft.gif

Could anyone explain how I should do Step 4?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: finished the pic, this was purely meant for exercise, so it's kinda empty and stuff.
This is like my first work made with Photoshop tongue.gif

Just change the layer blending mode to color dodge.

I would provide a picture, but for some reason my Print Screen key isn't working..

On the right side it should say Normal for the layer that you clicked on > click the drop down menu > select color dodge.

Edit: omg

I did, but the white "light" became yellow instead of like what's in that picture. huh.gif

Looks yellow to me. Try lowering the opacity or cycling through all the layers until you find one you like.

Well, it will be different pertaining to the image you used.

I'll provide a picture:

I can't even change the color, it just becomes yellow.

You have to make the eclipse totally white, is it a little bit off?
Fes
Nevermind, I tihnk I know what he used: Outerglow, when you make that red-orange and colordodge the ellipse you get the same/similar effect.

I think this can be closed. smile.gif
