AUTHORS NOTE

I like war-diary books, written by the actual victims, and like learning about war. The entries will be added EVERY DAY, to accompany the ACTUAL DATES of GMT -05:00.

The little prolouge type thing, I had written in 5th grade, as a beggining of a story but gave up on it.

Thanks for reading-
Fun Man

First were the Templars, guardians of all that was holy. They sailed from a distant land of mythical and strange creatures. The stories tell of brave hero’s deeds, praising them as they worshiped the gods. The stories were of invincibility. But, ironically enough, the truth was the opposite.

It began as a venture into distant lands, to gain gold, jewelry and fame. Their greed showed no stopping, as they destroyed the land to get their way. They had not attempted, not yet, to enter farther then what was in front of them. The first time they tried they were slaughtered in massive numbers, by an alliance of dwarves, elves, goblins and many other races. The Elves mystical fortune tellers fortold that the armies of Glienor would be defeated, and so they moved far away, to their present domain. The Templars regrouped and in a series of swift and planned battles, they quickly defeated The Alliance. Goblins and dwarves scattered, and gnomes followed the elves path, to a new domain.

The Templars formed a new kingdom, Falador. It housed the greatest fortress and knights to ever be born into the land. But their were many who disagreed with this new army, the Black Knights. They seceded from the Templars, now known as the white knights, and formed a cult. While many saw these Black Knights as evil, they truly were just a new ‘idea’. The word of them spread through Falador, and though the Templars tried to halt it, many Faladorians left Falador to form a new city. They created two small villages, Edgeville and Rimmington. They were both loyal to each other and as Rimmington was close to the new founded port, Port Siram, and Edgeville was closer to Kandarin, they traded with each other, and both grew more prosperous. But even then, many felt indifferent to all these wars and groups, and moved far away from them all, to build Lumbridge. But even all that, did not bring an end to this new age of discovery. Another force from Cando, a distant land, traveled to Asgarnia, and settled their, bringing Asgarnia another 100,000 lives. Wars began to rage across the land, in a desperate control for territory.

Across the north, the Black Knights gained Territory over a desolate and empty land- now known as the wilderness. They found terrible and bloodthirsty creatures, and bent those to their will, so as to have Dragons and Giants join their ranks. Edgeville, now a small city, was back then a large kingdom, stretching for miles, joined the black knights, giving their army a grand total of 200,000 Black Knights, 50,000 Edgeville Cavalry, 8 Brigades of 10,000 archers each, and many peasants willing to fight for their kingdom.

Across the east, Lumbridge allied with Varrock, and formed the largest, but not necessarily the strongest, army. Their numbers reached a large 500,000, unincluding war-machines, their goblin allies, and peasants.

Ah, Falador. They had allied with Rimmington and Port Siram. They had the advantage of warships and trade. Rimmington’s large supply of trees offered Port Siram the chance to build many more warships. The tree’s also allowed Falador to build many catapults, rams, bows, arrows and nearly any other war machine made from wood. Their numbers were a large, solid, 400,000 trained, professional and battle ready soldiers. The odds looked in their favor.

The Black Knights, the aggressive army, possessed the abandoned dwarven tunnels. When they discovered this, they began making strong weapons and armor. When they sent a scouting party to investigate the tunnels, they discovered a long passage, which had been collapsed. The Black Knights sent rams to break through the tunnel. When the labor had been finished, they discovered a passage into north Falador. With the advantage of surprise they sent assassins to poision White Knight supplies, sabotage war machines and kill off any encountered White Knights. After this measure was taken, the Black Knights stormed Falador, which almost immediately surrendered. With this victory, the Black Knights let down their guard. Rimmington had held most of the White Knights army and War Machines. When Falador was deafated, Rimmington’s general sent out 50,000 soldiers to storm Falador. Taken by surprise, the Black Knights were forced to live out a siege in Falador’s fortress. Their was only one way in and only one way out. Or so the Black Knights thought. Their was a secret passage behind the fortress, which the famous Sir Vyvin’s ancestor, Captain Roval, led a small troop through. The Black Knight brigade, were slain. Now the White Knights tightened their security, and sent 25,000 soldiers out to siege Lumbridge.

Spies of Varrock had indicated that a Faladorian brigade would attack Lumbidge, so they sent a 100,000 man army to defeat these ongoers. Some scholars believe the Varrock Soldiers only suffered a minor 100 wounded, as the Faladorians suffered a complete loss. Lumbridge gained the aid of Draynor, and with them the Wizards. With this new support, The Lumbridge-Varrock alliance reached an army of about 550,000 soldiers, and 7000 mages. With this stunning army they sieged Rimmington and Port Siram, suffering minor losses. Though they lost almost 9000 soldiers in the first battle, the gained victory, and the upper hand. It would only be a matter of time before Rimmington and Port Siram fell.

June 26th

My lips were cold, hard, and chapped. Any tears that formed in my eyes, froze. Where am I? Who am I? These questions I ask myself. I do not know, who, or what I am. I think I am a soldier. Or maybe I am a prince. They say my head is cut, and I might go blind. I want to see! I do not want to find myself in eternal darkness. Or the eternal death. The docter said if I do not stop crying he will cut my tounge out. I hope he's lieing.

The ward-mate beside me says he wishes he had my skill with a blade. I have no skill with a blade. No son of Saradomin could condemn me to wield one, much less USE it. Damn it. Damn it all. This world. He is saying I fought bravely. I killed many men. GODS DAMN IT! WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE I WHO KILLS THE INNOCENT?

You're story seems to be written as a documentation of a war, not necesarilly a diary. That's not a bad thing, however. But something that I noticed was that things are totally blown out of proportion. I mean, Edgeville as a large kingdom? Dragons and demons in the Black Knight's ranks? It just seems somewhat impossible, along with the numbers. I just kind of find it hard to believe. slanty.gif

Actually, it says back then Edgeville stretched for miles, and it did, until the war came and it's lands suffered. It's more of a diary. Read the authors note. Dragons+Demons are largely populating the wilderness, and the blacknights bent them to their will.

I know it says that Edgeville stretched for miles, and that's partly what seems so unrealistic. Edgeville, in the Runescape universe, is a small, quiet ghost town on the rim of the populated world. Making it a large kingdom would be impossible, there simply isn't enough room. And I know this is your story and your universe, but measly black knights bending creatures as powerful as dragons and demons to their will seems very implausible.

@Finway:

All of it is plausible. Edgeville could have been defeated in the war then stripped of lands and population, or a plauge could have struck, or a storm of some type.

Black Knights, could have some form of sorcery? Kind of like the quest INGAME.

Very plausible, but sadly I'm discontinuing the story due to efforts to shortchange my work.

But there isn't any room for the land that Edgeville was stripped of. RuneScape is a very small universe, unless you can use writing tools to expand it to fit your story. Other than, the rest might be plausible.

That said, I really wish you would continue. It was an interesting story.

Seriously, Falador is around 100 squares in length, capital of a massive kingdom? Nope. In game proportions are ridiculously contradictory, and that's where fan fics come in. We can create our own proportions, a variation of things.

Yes, but Edgeville is a village.

Yes, but Edgeville is a village.

I'm saying that is Runescape, you can't take any of the given proportions to be accurate, as they aren't.

Yes, I know that, but Edgeville is a small-city bordering on the edge of the wilderness, a place full of dangers. If it was the capital of a mighty kingdom, it would either have to be on the edge of that kingdom, or else it's domain would spread into the wilderness. Edgeville is actually depicted as a small town, according to Runescape histories and lores, unlike Varrock and Falador, which, even though they are small, too, are huge by game standards. And apart from that, Edgeville was, historically, an abandoned ghost town up until the Fifth Age, but that could easily be corrected if this took place in a futuristic world.

And, seeing as the author won't continue this (which I hope he changes his mind and does), we should stop posting.
