Download WindowBlinds free version here:

http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp

then download ObjectDock free version here:

http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

WindowBlinds allows you to totally change the theme of your computer, and ObjectDock is the menu bar on a Mac computer. If you have any questions, just post here.

Spirit Shield
did it a WHILE AGO. SLOWS DOWN YOUR COMPUTOR LIKE HELL

Been there, done that, got the T shirt tongue.gif
It was cool for a while, but isn't very friendly on your computer.
I also tried VistaOSX for a bit when windows blinds trial ran out.
tawk
It doesn't slow my computer down at all :\

Nah, Windows blinds is bad because you have to pay for it.

Download VistaGlazz (download.com) or a uxtheme patcher if you have xp. Run it, restart, you'll now be able to use 3rd party themes. Go to DeviantArt and look up a Mac theme, download, set it as your theme, put the bar at the top then download rocket/object dock and use it.

There is a command prompt to fix damaged files, is how I fixed files changed by VistaOSX.

Good thing about vistaglazz is that it makes a backup and a hit of a button is all it takes to revert to the old files.

You're using Vista, use Vistaglazz.

I tried getting a Hackintosh once, then I realized it was illegal. aware.gif
Still, this is pretty close to it.

I wouldn't consider it illegal. You're only breaking the EEULA....

It's no different than jailbreaking an iphone. wink.gif

Maybe it's WindowsBlinds that's blocking it?

I don't know, that's really funky.

Nothing. They're really not practical at all.

I'd rather have a very simple skin (not Caboose simple tongue.gif), but simpler than Vista's.

I use the MaxClear theme with a custom start menu button.
Nrox
Funny how no one mentioned FlyAKiteOSX. It's the most thorough reskinning of a PC I've ever seen, although it only works on XP.

There's nothing wrong with Windows Standard. I'm even considering switching to High Contrast. I kid, but i might if it didn't change the actual webpages.

I really am still considering a hackintosh, since macs cost a fortune and a half huh.gif
Caboose
And aren't that good anyway? Really though, Windows for Gaming and some editing, Linux for everything else. I don't see OSX in the picture there.
redmonke
Yea, but having a hackintosh is waaaaaaaaay more impressive than linux. wink.gif

And with all the prehacked versions of OSX, it's really easy to do. I just don't have any computers I'm willing to use as a test subject. slanty.gif
Caboose
Impressive? Maybe, but in no way better tongue.gif
redmonke
It's a sort of...do it because you can kind of thing. tongue.gif

Thats the same with me, can't afford to mess up my laptop, and the old desktop is still used by mum/dad, so they wouldn't be too pleased, the only ones left is a centuries old Tiny Pc which would never handle it, which I think is in pieces now anyway.
Mudkip Hugger
So how would you make an XP computer look like a Mac?
redmonke
Download the xp uxtheme patcher. Run it. Follow the directions.

Then go to deviantart and then download one of these.

WHen i tried the uxtheme patcher, I got the same message as tawk. And yes, before you ask, I'm using XP.
_Ej
There is a xp to mac pack thing, but for the life of me can't remember the name. I'll see if I can find.
I think this might be it

Since Redmonke's instructions didn't work, I took things into my own hands, and ended up with this:

That patcher worked for me and my friend... huh.gif
Mudkip Hugger
It didn't work for me, so I manually replaced it.

Manually replacing has never worked for me. box.gif
