From lifehacker: The recently convicted site runners claim on their blog that users will leave the site in droves if the "new owners screw around with the site"—a fairly good guess, we'd think—but owners-to-be GGF state their intention to "introduce models which entail that content providers and copyright owners get paid" for downloads.

I don't torrent much at all, but I always like TPB. slanty.gif

Actually if TPB would of respected copyright laws in the first place none of this would of happened. Seldom did copyright holders request removal of content and every time they were mocked. Even if they removed it but let it be reuploaded. None of this would of happened. So don't blame somebody else for this.

Everyone has a right to protect their IP's.

Or if you know, TPB doesn't actually host anything. It's just a search engine for torrents. So, no need to respect copyright laws.

And honestly, I couldn't care less if I produced a song and people downloaded it. Most artists are aware that they don't make shizzle off of purchasing song because record companies take it all. They make the most out of concerts and t shits and such.

ARTIST MAKE ENOUGH MONEY AS IT IS

Artists don't make enough money as they should when it comes to people buying their music. Record companies take a lot from them and most of them hate it. This is why bands like Radiohead and NIN are putting them up for download and letting fans "pay what they want."

I just like the number of comments that TPB torrents get. I've never really seen a torrent on BtJunkie or MiniNova with that many comments, which then makes me suspicious on the possibility of a torrent being a hoax, filled with trojans, or difficult to install.

Helping someone commit a crime is a crime as well...

Its called being an accessory to a crime.

You can get in trouble for acquiring stolen merchandise without knowing it was stolen.

Zero
Well, I am not surprised at all. This happens, and will continue to happen. More or so, copyright holders are attacking torrent sites, same with governments. They haven't done a raid on a warez operation in a while. 3 years to be exact, when torrent-site raids are more common nowadays.

Yes but not everyone is out to give their stuff away for free.

But more and more bands and other companies are giving out free stuff (Radiohead, NIN, some others) so others may follow. If they were smart they would.
