Just wondering how many clans still come here. I would love it if Sal's would pick up again. I'm not one of those downers who believed things were horrible before. I actually liked it here before all the haters and power hungry people ran it into the ground. So to that end if you would take a second and let me know if you still come here often and what clan your in or even if you are in one that way I can determine if it is worth my time and effort to steer people here.

There aren't any clans that really frequent here anymore though. =/ You'd actually need to get a couple of clan leaders together and try to start setting up a small community over here again.

Other than the occasional win topic or "what happened here" topic you won't see much activity here.

Which is the reason I ask. I believe I can get a handful of clans to start posting again but if it's just me I won't bother.

Mods had the chance to change the site when people like Blade, Kody and others tried to improve things. The mods refused to listen so everyone mass left to SalsCD.com

I check here from time to time.

I stop by once in awhile as well.

Im always browsing though but with the lack of the "oldschool" Sals discussion users i just see it as a place to not be active in now.

I really think that killing off this sals cd and making a newer one with the no namers from salscd.com the "power hungry" self-obsessive members of this sals community was a bit unjust, but if its what the majority wants.

I actually miss 06 /07 sals. Maybe earlier,

None really. The mods here ruined everything. If they wanted it to change then they should do somethings different.

I've been wondering, just out of the blue, if smaller and maybe not-so-known clans would come onto Sal's. I was never here for the earlier days of Sal's but I think clans randomly started appearing and made a "foothold" so to say, on these forums. Maybe it could happen again. But to answer your question, now that I have regained my forum password lol: I visit occasionally.

It's possible, but with the way clans are now a days, we don't have new clans being created as frequently. All of the stable clans are either on RSC or www.SalsCD.com now.

Sal's Forum hasn't been this inactive, atleast from my observations, since four and a half years ago when the forums began. I don't think Sal's Forum Clan discussion will be revived. Sal's Clan discussion became active when clans got all of their members from Sal's Forums. Now most successful clans get most of their members from Zybez/Runescape Community and because of this most happen to post there to raise publicity.

Unless multiple clans decide to post here simultaneously, it will remain inactive.

The clan world is basicly decaying. Lets face it, Blade V1per and a few others making that Sal'sCD was a HUGE mistake. The mods here may have their flaws and the rules are strict, but with the community split like this, both sides are smaller than one big whole, thus bringing inactivity. I hate to point fingers, but IMO Blade should just close the other CD.

Also, I know some of you are extremely loyal to Blade and think the mods are basicly Nazis, but I have a right to my opinion so flame me if you must. I agree that the mods need to loosen up, but as for the splitting....no, just no.

Finally, to answer the question, no, i don't come here much, no reason to.

At least you use your freedom to flame mindlessly. I'm sure Blade and the others didn't mean to cause the harm they did, I would guess they wanted to leave and make their own CD as quetly and as peacefully as possible, but it turned into a rebellion of sorts.

Or he could be relating to the 'split the community' comment you said as there isn't a community here just 1 or 2 posts every now and again you plank

Well, the community did split, so I was right.

Actually the new Clan Discussion Blade has created is bigger than the Clan Discussion forum here when we left. So now Blade has created more freedom for our posters, and has provided us with a larger forum with a more active community... I don't really see a downside at all.

As for the community splitting up, you are not right. The entire community left for the new forum. There is no community left here unless you consider yourself the community... If that's the case then, you are Sals... Grats.

No because there isn't a community here, just random posts every now and again. Stop trying to be smart.

Or because there's no stopping him. When Blade created the forums he was asked what he would do if Sal tried to get the forum closed due to the name being the same, and Blade replied with "I'll change my dog's name to Sal and then I will name my forum after my dog."

So I don't think Sal did anything to affect this at all. I doubt he even cares tbh.

To be fair, the mods wanted the CD to be gone, and I'm sure Sal wanted it gone too, so I would guess Sal threw Blade the bone. IMO, I thought Blade's creating this when he got band and the rules saying no Sal's mods may join was like a break away clan(a childish member being banned and makes a clan to go against the original and steals members)on a very large scale. Luckly for Blade, EVERYONE basicly wanted him to do the childish thing and make another CD, so I guess it's a win win.

IMO the clan world has become really inactive since the new CD came about. However, by "inactive", I mean no large fueds, no buying leaders, no members who flame absolutly everyone(note:Orichocos, the guy who caused ALOT of drama here is not banned on the other CD, but hasn't made much of an impact there either), etc. So I guess it's better this way since all the things I listed are just bad drama.

Maybe i'm coming in a little late here but maybe possible because Sal can't do shizzle about it? Last time i checked the term "Sals" was not trademarked in anyway and unless Sal wanted to pull a trick out Kim-Jongs book he couldn't stop people from discussing a new forum on this clan discussion nor could he stop them from using IRC to spread the message (which to my understanding is what happened). Theres no community here its just a waste of 0.2 seconds of my life forcing me to scroll down a bit more to reach areas of the board where real discussion actually occurs. As an outsider with only a little knowledge of clanning from setting up a few boards and warring once on a friends account you should really take to heart the legitmacy of what i'm saying.



Orichocos didn't cause drama he was just caused some comic mischief from time to time. However i partially agree with your post Sals CD lacks any real spice to make it interesting but that is what most people joined it for isn't it? Theres problems here theres problems there most people just found that there were less problems there so why not embrace that choice that they made rather then trying to tell them how bad it was.

Well, Sal could probably pull something like that but as I stated before NO MODS liked the CD so I guess Sal should be thanking Blade for making the new CD.

Second, I said that I was trolling, meaning that I wasn't serious. However, the other CD is better from a moral stand point and everyone will say that the drama was bad, but alot of people loved it, but still, a CD with no drama is a near perfect CD.

The kind of freedom clans are demanding can't be met by any respectable forum.

Face it, people complain after they get warned for flaming, spamming, and downright lacking common sense.

edit: Even though Sals CD is filled with spam, it's doing pretty good compared to here. People are now complaining about the lack of seriousness of behalf of the moderators. Freaking hypocrites.

Can see the new SalsCD failing rather soon, due to it being overrun by NH teams and the new NI.

If they're smart, the honor teams that reside there will quickly vacate and move back to the old Sals or move full-time to RSC.

Well, the new CD is down atm, I guess it is just going through some server errors. Also, I half agree with Micael(even though I have butted heads with him more times than I can count)because to be honest I kind-of like this forum better but I don't want it to become active because that would make the other more inactive and then we would have something of a "civil war" with the two CD's split and this would cause massive inactivity. Ofcourse I don't care it clan totaly unrelated to the new CD came here, but I wouldn't want the new CD to split.
