In that topic, Steve mentioned how Administrators are not allowed to change someone's display name OR username. However, as Definition spotted, the rules only state that Administrators are not allowed to change display names. So, I'm now suggesting to add usernames to that rule, which will then make its policy more clear.

Why? Members don't have the ability to change usernames.
In order to do so, they must go through Administration.

I see what you're talking about, but it was you who said that this was not black and white in the rules. If a member wanted to change their username, this simple addition (two or three words) would make it clear.

I see what you're talking about, but if a member wanted to change their username (like you did) then this addition would make it clear.
Oh. I thought you were suggesting that the rules disallow administrators from changing them.

Admins might need to change them, I'm not sure why but its a possibility, and sal is reading this topic

Why wasn't the chance that Steve may have added a wrong detail in considered? In that topic, Steve mentioned how Administrators are not allowed to change someone's display name OR username. The rules don't say anything about usernames, so those are apparently at the admins' discretion. If there is an actual need for clarification, it will be done.
