I don't think any extensive elaboration is nescessary.
A method of reporting should be implemented into blogs (if possible).

I agree. Why should blogs not get the same treatment as forums when it comes to misbehavior? PMing a moderator also seems to not be as effective as just reporting something.

Sal's Forum purchased a blog module from another modding site and implemented into this. I'm 100% sure they didn't add the blog report link. Just PM it to a moderator and she/he can take care of it.

So its not worth bothering?

'Course you can still edit the files, but first you have to ask the person who created this module for his/her permission in order to edit these files.
This will be time-consuming, just PM a moderator. It's not a big deal.

I'm completely fine with messaging a moderator if I come across a problem in any blog. But I have to agree, having a report button would be much, much more simpler. If this can be done in someway, then I'd be more than happy if it were installed.

Really? That surprises me that you'd have to ask to mod something. If Sal actually bought the blog system, it seems like he'd be free to edit it.
It'd be helpful on our end as well if a report button was installed on blog entries and comments. I support.

It would be helpful, but it's not necessary. I just visit one of their posts via their profiles and report that way which is like what happens for reporting signatures. Report via post, shouldn't take to long anyway. If there needs to be any proof because blogs could be edited it would be good to print screen the webpage and send it to a moderator?

Just my thoughts, rather than implementing report functions. Even thinking about this, 3.0.1 of IPB has been released so expect to see IPB3 coming around. I wouldn't be adding any modifications or anything like that just yet.

Guys, I agree PMing works (and what Fatalysm said), but this is more convenient.

I disagree, blogs are a pretty chill place, and reporting things will make it suck more. Don't ruin the blogs.

People already PM moderators about blog entries that break rules. A report button would just make it easier and quicker.

Exactly, meaning more reports would be logged since it would be easier to report, meaning overeager mods would start warning people and the overall environment and feel of the blogs would be more constricted.

The problem with PMing a mod is assuming that they're going to get the message. More than once, I've PMed a mod, but they would've been just looking at the index, and therefore didn't receive the message because they didn't click a link.
A Report Button just makes it easier and any mod that's logged in can deal with it. I support.

Just because there is a report button doesn't mean people will over use it. There are several moderators who are active within the blogs. The only thing this would change drastically is the speed the report gets completed. Rather than waiting for that one moderator to read the message, any would be able to do it.

Just because you purchased the rights to use something doesn't mean you can do what you want. You can rent construction equipment but it comes with regulations. I am sure he has the right by the author to modify it in this fashion, but it doesn't hurt to reread the short terms of use policy. They are not all created equal.
The blog system and the report system are not stock features of the IPB forum software. It would take a bit of modifying to connect these extra features to work together. I agree completely that it would be a helpful tool but I also know Sal has a lot on his plate right now.

Maybe Sal should let others do it...all I seem to hear when these threads come up is how little time he has.

I understand the reluctance but still...might be time.

You wouldn't want other people messing with the codes of your site either, with a huge chance of messing up.
