Ok, I'm selling some DJ equipment on eBay and I will have around £200 to spend. I looked at several items on eBay and found a MacBook was pretty cheap although I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Any suggestions on what I can buy? I have nothing in particular in mind, I do already have a windows desktop pc although I like working on multiple tasks at once which is why I was thinking about some kind of Mac, although like I said, anyone have any suggestions?

What do you mean? I assume you want something tech based, but what. New components, case mods, watercooling... what? Tell you what, what are your system specs at the minute? I'm sure we can sort you out some upgrades.

That's the point, I am not too sure, I'm thinking something along the lines of an eMac or MacBook. I'll get my computer specefications in a bit.

You said you had £200... you could just about get a netbook for that. My personal opinion is that no, it isn't really worth it. The OS isn't even that good and the hardware is quite old.

You could put some of it towards this. Amazing price at the minute, and includes 32bit and 64bit discs.

What do you need exactly? And in what way do you want to DJ? There's a big difference between playing music from iTunes to a pair of speakers and actually mixing your own "house blend" of sorts. If you just wnat to do the former, a netbook with 160GB drive is enough. Beyond that, you can't buy anything modern for DJing with a computer for 200gbp. So I'd say stick to analogue then; an actual turntable and lots of vinyl. And that's still not including speakers. Just on a side note; it's much more dangerous to run an inadequate amp then it is to overdrive decent speakers. A lot of speakers will work just fine with sub-100W amps, but it's still the amp's clipping that can and will cause the most damage to the speakers. Also, if you want to buy loudspeakers, I'd suggest you look into vintage gear. There's no reason to spend $500 on a 5.1-home-theater-in-a-box when a pair of vintage speakers costs <$200 and an amp can be found locally on the cheap.

Firstly, a Mac is no better at multi-tasking than a Windows computer, which I think is what you were implying. If you were to somehow get a Mac for £200, it would be very, very old and have appalling hardware. I think it would be far better if you used the money to buy a Windows 7 upgrade for your current computer like Caboose suggested, or to upgrade some components. You won't get a decent netbook for £200 - if you want one, you'd need to find around £100-£150 more than you're going to make from the DJ equipment, depending on what you expect from a netbook.
Veni vidi vici
Post the specs of your current computer. You could always upgrade it (Buy more RAM, new motherboard/processor etc.)...
It depends what you want. Don't just buy something because you have money. Only buy something if you need it. You could always put it in a bank...
