Summer was once again nearing, and Percy, as he was ADHD and dyslexic, could barely wait. Annabeth was in San Francisco so he’ll be going to camp with Rachel. It was the first ever disaster-free school year. Rachel was going to pick up Percy on about 3.

And the time was: 15 minutes to 4. He was playing on Paul’s brand new X-box 360.

“Percy!”

“Later, Mom! I’m running from the Zombies!” Percy didn’t even bother to look at who was yelling at him – he assumed it was Sally.

“Percy! You’ve delayed it long enough!” Rachel pulled Percy from his collar. Not that he wore a collared shirt. His supposed to be green eyes were blunt from playing, he was sweaty and his hair was messed up.

“Oh. Rachel, hi. When did you get here?”

“About 45 minutes ago when you said ‘Wait! I’m going to defeat the leader of the Nazis! It’s only going to take a minute!’ I saw you defeat the leader 40 minutes ago, yet sadly for me, you don’t pay attention.”

“Sorry. Let’s go!”

“Ok… You comfortable in a helicopter?”

“Of course.” He carried his suitcase and said good-bye to Sally and Paul.

They entered the helicopter. The helicopter hovered around for a while then slowly sped. They talked about random stuff for a while, when they were near Long Island their conversation turned to how Percy looks.

“You do know how blunt your eyes are becoming from playing. They’ve also become paler and have cracked and dry edges.” Rachel commented.

“It’s nothing.” Percy said.

“You also have eye bugs. Not black yet, but deep. You have got to get away from Paul’s X-box.”

“I thought you were supposed to be in a ladies’ academy? Why are you wearing jeans, a t-shirt and have been breaking rules?”

“Don’t try to change the subject, though. And I have not been breaking rules!”

“Fine. I won’t talk then.” Percy stopped and didn’t talk. He stared blankly at nothing. His arms involuntarily moved and started playing Air-box 360. Involuntarily. As if he were possessed.

“Percy? Are you alright?”

“Must kill them! Must kill!” Yet he was staring at nothing. His eyes were becoming paler, yet at the same time glowing proudly green. His hands were shaking. Sweat was pouring from every pore in his body.

“Percy!” Rachel shouted, worried. She saw Camp coming near. When they arrived Percy was still on that possessed mode. Rachel ran to camp and called for help. She arrived with Annabeth, Chiron, Clarisse and some other campers.

“What happened?” Annabeth asked. She neared Percy but the energy around him was dangerous, almost like cold fire and or electricity. She couldn’t get near. None of them could.

“He’s possessed!” Clarisse stated.

Annabeth and Rachel stared at her like they were saying we figured that out long ago.

“What exactly happened?” Chiron asked.

“Percy got annoyed, ignored me for about 5 seconds then his hands involuntarily moved. His eyes were becoming paler but glowing, like how it is now but it was greener before. He was saying ‘Must kill them! Must kill!’, he was sweating like he is now, his hands were shaking then the rest followed.”

“Odd. This has never happened before. It’s completely new. I suggest we call the Gods! Clarisse and Annabeth, go and call anyone from Mount Olympus. Rachel, please call Mr. D.” Chiron commanded. “Everybody else, please get back to your cabins.”

They did as told. All of them. 30 minutes later, everyone was there. Annabeth and Clarisse convinced all of the Gods to go. Artemis even arrived with her hunters.

“What happened?” Asked Poseidon, he tried to go near Percy but felt the cold fire/ lighting energy.

Zeus stared at Percy. “Strange. The energy emitting is somewhat strong. If not very strong.” He grabbed a stone and threw it at Percy. The stone crumbled to dust within a centimeter of his skin. “Oracle of Delphi. Put your palm on Perseus’s hand.”

“Wait. You see a stone crumble to dust and you want me to touch him?”

“Yes.”

Rachel hesitated. But after a few come on’s, she neared Percy, she could feel the energy, her hands felt cold, she couldn’t stand it and her reflexes made her hand back away within 5 inches of Percy’s hands.

“Hmm… Daughter of Athena! Try to do the same.”

Annabeth went near Percy. She slowly felt the trickle of the energy go through her fingers. But she stopped. You can pass through the barrier, miss. Our master allows it. A strange voice said. Her head was spinning, and her hands felt cold, but then went warm, then her hands touched Percy’s, but his hand – it was hot, and her hand backed away.

“Interesting. One fears the cold and one fears the hot. If combined together the immunity could surpass the energy field and awaken Perseus.” Zeus commented.

“Yet I will not let my daughter take such risks!” Athena bellowed.

“I won’t let my new oracle take that risk either!” Apollo said.

“They are right, father. Energy of that strength can kill a God! Combining our strengths may stop the energy going for about 30 minutes or more, but we must awaken the boy in that period of time.” Artemis explained.

“And since it’s just a rough estimation, blah blah blah, it may not work, and since we don’t know what caused this, it could be our doom.” Dionysus said dryly.

“Find Hades, call his son, perhaps.” Zeus said to Hermes.

Hermes nodded and went to the cabins.

The girls were throwing everything at Percy, stones, flowers, dirt, and water. Water was able to pass through but evaporated because of the heat of his skin was about boiling point. They were surprised his blood didn’t boil, it was only the epidermis that was hot.

Hades had arrived. He had Persephone and Demeter along with him, even though it was summertime.

“Hades! Persephone! Demeter! Welcome!” Zeus shouted.

“Good afternoon-turning into night, brother.” Hades said as he looked at the sunset. “What seems to be so important you have to call us?”

They all pointed at Percy.

“Ah… You want me to help?”

“All of you helping would be great.” Zeus commented.

“To help on what, I see this as possession – what help can we do?” Persephone asked.

“That energy barrier surrounding Perseus, see we can bring it down temporarily. The more power the longer we can bring it down.” Athena explained.

Persephone experimentally tried to go near Percy. She went near, but couldn’t go nearer.

“Cold fire. How odd.” Persephone said.

Annabeth was circling the energy barrier. She noticed that the right hand wasn’t playing, it was like it was writing something. The left hand was clicking on nothing, though.

“Can I have a pen and paper?” Annabeth asked.

“What for?” Rachel asked in return.

Annabeth stared hard at what Percy was writing. She pointed at it.

“Oh.” Rachel ran down to the big house and grabbed a pen and some paper immediately. She gave the pen and paper to Annabeth.

Annabeth studied what motion Percy’s hand was doing, she tried to copy it, but it was too hard. “As soon as the energy barrier is down, I should put the pen on Percy’s hand.”

“I’ve finished calculating. The power of all of us, and the power of the energy barrier are almost the same, our power, of course being stronger, but not strong enough to put it down permanently. It should be sufficient enough to be able to bring it down for 30 minutes to one hour, but it’s just a rough estimation.” Hermes announced.

“That’s alright for a good investigation, we may be able to free him in that time.” Rachel agreed.

“Give us time. And Nico and Thalia should be able to help us.” Apollo said. He made a signal to Nico and Thalia to come to them.

They all held hands and power surged through all of them. The echoes of their power hesitantly brought the barrier down. They all felt tired and requested some Ambrosia ad nectar.

Annabeth immediately put the pen on his hands and the paper on his laps.

Release for a quest, required to defeat the lord of time!! Children of the big three! 1 clearsighted mortal, and one daughter of Athena, one daughter of Ares. War gods have big influence! Kill Kronos! Or havoc be wreaked on the whole universe, Gods cannot interfere on big things yet on small things they must! Must kill! Kill!

Then the hands stopped. Both of them. Percy dropped the pen, and the paper fell. He stopped saying things. His eyes stopped glowing. He stopped sweating. He fell unconscious.

“Do you think it’s over?” Asked Rachel.

“Probably.” Said Clarisse

Annabeth nodded and inspected the note. The handwriting was familiar, but how messy it was made it harder to recognize if it was Percy’s or someone else’s.

The gods crowded on the note and read it. Annabeth, Rachel, Chiron and Thalia attended Percy. They put him in his cabin and fed him Ambrosia and Nectar while he was unconscious, they were careful not to feed him too much.

Nico, Clarisse and some satyrs including Grover were inspecting the helicopter.

A few hours later, Percy awoke. Most of the Gods have already gone back to Olympus, and Hades was back to the underworld. Only Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, and Artemis stayed.

“Dad?” Percy said.

“Percy! Your awake!”

“Yeah. What happened?” Percy asked.

“Long story.”

“When did we even arrive?”

“So you don’t remember anything. AT all?” Annabeth asked.

“I remember ignoring Rachel then falling asleep.” Percy said

“Falling asleep? That must have been when you were possessed.” Clarisse stated

“Why is Dad, Athena, Apollo and Artemis here?” Percy asked.

“Because they were the only ones that didn’t have anything to do, and they were told by Zeus to investigate further.” Rachel said.

“She is correct. If you accept the quest then the prophecy will be stated. Father has allowed Thalia, Hades has allowed Nico. And Ares has allowed Clarisse.” Artemis said.

“I allow my daughter.” Athena said, unusual as she was usually protective.

“It’s alright with me, if it’s alright with her.” Apollo said.

“As for me, Percy. If you want to, I will not complain.” Poseidon said.

“Quest for what?” Percy asked.

Annabeth handed the note to Percy.

“This is insane! It could be a trap!” Percy said.

“It’s true, They found word of Kronos’s power being risen. For the old monsters, they still haven’t learned their lesson.” Athena said.

“But… How? Where will he stay? He has no body!”

“That’s the quest. Prevention. If you can’t prevent it from happening, well, then a battle again.” Apollo said.

“I accept the quest. But then, how will we prevent it?” Percy asked.

“To finally remove Kronos’s soul from this world. Or if it is totally impossible, just don’t let him get into a body so that it could be delayed.” Poseidon said.

“The intelligence about his movement will be reported later. For now, Percy, you should just get comfortable, you know, eat, take a bath, and meet up with some of the campers.” Apollo said.

“Wait. Brother, how can you forget about the prophecy?” Artemis said.

Apollo scratched his head. “Oh yeah. And ask Rachel.”

“Obviously.” Annabeth said.

The prophecy wasn’t too great. As they were about to ask the question, Chiron burst in.

“This time, the quest will be unlike any other quest. It will involve things that you can’t possibly imagine.” Chiron announced.

“A quest unlike any other quest?” Annabeth asked.

Chiron nodded. “Kronos’s biggest fragments are stored in the middle of a complicated, heavily guarded, fatal-if-not-careful maze. The width of each hallway is about 5 meters, it’s really large. And there are dead ends that are very big, you won’t see the rolling rocks.”

“How is it unlike any other?” Clarisse asked. “It sounds the same.”

“The walls, roofs and floors of the maze – they’re practically glowing. There are wires to sense movement, there are cameras, and doors, and door traps. It’ll take at least a week to come up with a proper map, and something to protect you from the sensors and cameras. You’ll probably need other stuff, too.”

Athena smiled. “I will help. And my children. I could ask Hephaestus, too.”

“That is good. I must say, we must be going now. Thalia, I allow you to stay for a while.” Artemis said. Then she vanished. The rest of them followed.

“I guess the quest will be delayed. But the prophecy should be heard now.” Chiron said.

“Okay, then, Rachel-“ Annabeth started to say.

“Wait! Only one will hear it. Percy will lead the quest, so he will hear it.” Chiron said. He signaled them to go outside.

“But!” Annabeth complained.

“I’m sorry, Annabeth, but that’s the way it works.” Chiron said.

Argh… Fine. But never again am I leaving Percy alone with Rachel. Annabeth thought.

Once they were all out, the door slammed shut.

Rachel’s eyes glowed, and the room was full with The Mist.

“I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach, seeker, and ask.” She said in a raspy voice.

Percy breathed deeply. “What is my- I mean our destiny?”

The Mist thickened. It was swirling around the room. It was circling mostly everything.

In the middle of the room appeared 5 figures. They weren’t anyone Percy knew, but they were scary. The middle one was a woman, and had a long white gown. And had a sad expression on her eyes. Percy knew it was an illusion made out of the mist, but he was still having goosebumps.

“You shall go risk more than enough, and go to the electric cave”

The figure disappeared. The one on her right was a small boy, with teary eyes.

“You shall come halfway, where one will be saved.”

It disappeared, too. Percy was now keeping himself from fainting. The one on the left was a young man, about 19, he was shot in the heart.

“Death will come, and a friend will be spared, and keep a hold”

This figure flashed until it disappeared. The last two were twins. The younger one with pigtails and a creepy shocked expression on her face.

“The middle you will find, But you will fail to save what matters most to this world.”

She cried until she disappeared.

The last one had an evil murderous expression.

“And you, my friend, will die, pierced in the heart. And come a white dove.”

She screamed, then disappeared. Then Rachel appeared again.

“You will scream, and you will cry, but only one will hear, the one who you love.”

Then, her face repeated all the expressions. Then the mist stopped. And it disappeared. He was on the verge of fainting, and tears were forming in the corner of his eye.

“Percy? Are you all right?” She asked me.

“Not really.” I said in response, I bit my tongue.

“You didn’t like what I said, I suppose?” Rachel said.

“More likely, I don’t like what you did.” Percy said.

“What I did? What did I do?” Rachel asked.

“It was creepy. First the mist thickened. Then 5 figures appeared on the middle of the room. The first one was a woman, wearing a long white gown, with a sad expression on her eyes. The second one was a little boy, he had tearful eyes. The next one was a young man, he was shot in the heart. Then a pair of twins. One of them had a creepy shocked look, and the other had a murderous look. I will have nightmares about this.” Percy said

“Creepy.” Rachel said. She opened the door. Everyone was outside.

Percy told them the story of the 5 figures.

“Really, Percy. It could mean nothing at all, or it could be the biggest clue of the century.” Thalia said.

“Thalia, is right. What matters most is the prophecy.” Chiron said.

“The prophecy. Right. You shall go risk more than enough, and go to the electric cave. You shall come halfway, where one will be saved. Death will come, and a friend will be spared, and keep a hold. The middle you will find, But you will fail to save what matters most to this world. And you, my friend, will die, pierced in the heart. And come a white dove. You will scream, and you will cry, but only one will hear, the one who you love.” Percy stated.

“Quite a prophecy.” Nico commented.

“It is.” Said Chiron.

“Sounds like a sappy romance novel.” Annabeth said.

“Percy. The spirit of Delphi’s prophecies usually have double meanings.” Rachel said.

“This seems pretty straightforward except for some things. Like ‘And come a white dove’.” Percy said.

“White dove? How can a white dove get in a high-tech cave?” Thalia asked.

“Double meanings.” Nico said.

“Anyway. You have one week to prepare. Ask for godly gifts, anything to help you. I don’t know. But prepare yourselves.”

I have read all of the books published to this point, so I have an idea about all the characters, I will give you a review once I read this over.

I read the series and liked it. Your fan fiction, though, seems a tiny bit dull/cliche. Perhaps it's just that I'm used to a professional writer using these characters as his tools, not you (although, being a character in the series, you have an advantage over him! ohmy.gif), but it didn't seem too exciting or realistic. (Realistic obviously being within the context of the series.)

I'm looking forward to reading about the quest... hopefully the action you cover will prove more exciting than the quick slide show you so far seem to be putting on instead of telling a complete story. I think the biggest issue I had with this tale is that a zillion characters were thrown in at once, including all the gods, and most played virtually no role. Also, everything was too speedy - this would have been maybe fifty pages of story from Riordan, but this was, what, five or six? It's good that you were able to condense it, but it's best to do so with an adapted format that doesn't involve rushing scenes.

Nice story otherwise, Annabeth. Looking forward to reading more! smile.gif

I knew I remembered that name somewhere! Yeah, I read like 3 of the book's already. I think I'm on the 3ed right now. Lol happy.gif It's really good and easy to read.
