Full Version: Runescape Q&A
Sal's RuneScape Forum > Everything RuneScape > RuneScape Updates & News
Dr Skull
The previous RuneScape Q&A proved to be both popular and successful, so we thought it was about time for another one.

We will be opening up a "Questions for Jagex" thread in the News & Announcements forum tomorrow for anyone who wants to post questions to us. This thread shall remain open until the morning of Monday 3rd August, after which we will compile questions and pass them on to the people at Jagex best suited to answer them.

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard (Mod MMG) will be providing the first batch of answers, which will be posted on the forums next Thursday (6th August). In addition to posting his answers, we will also be hosting a live Q&A session on the forums with him on the same day, starting at 8pm (GMT), and running for a couple of hours or so.

Each Thursday from then on, we will post another batch of answers and host another live Q&A session for those questions relevant to the other teams here at Jagex. Those directly relevant to RuneScape are as follows:

  • Thursday 6th August – Mark Gerhard
  • [Thursday 13th August - FunOrb]
  • Thursday 20th August – Player Support
  • [Thursday 27th August - Mechscape]
  • Thursday 3rd September – Andrew
  • Thursday 10th September – RuneScape Content
  • Thursday 17th September – Community Management
  • Thursday 24th September – Translation

For more information about these Q&A sessions, and for where, when and how to submit questions, please read this forum thread. We are also holding Q&A sessions for our other products. Details of these can also be found on this forum thread.

Hopefully people won't waste these questions.

Yeah I agree with Obeliskos. I hope they don't ask random questions like "whens the new skill", I hope something intresting comes out of these, I'm hoping a epic fail from Player Support. bleh.gif

Third post:

I'd like to find out if, as and when they intend to bring out either "eastern lands" or open the main elf city that no one can get into ...

I don't know it I'll participate- I'm not sure I'll have anything to ask that others will have already asked 10,000 times over.

Since we haven't gotten much info at all on this new skill, maybe this is the time they will finally let us know something about it (i.e. whether it is a gathering, combat, or production skill)! Because so many people will be asking about it- of this I am certain- maybe they'll actually decide to let us know!

I'll ask a question, I don't know what about.

wen u bring wildy back????!?!?!?!?!?!

Meh. I hope these questions are good.

Awesome. Sounds like a great opportunity to find out more about specific elements of Runescape. I'll have a think about some questions to ask smile.gif
The Who?
I just posted my questions, hope I get at least 1 in. Here they are tongue.gif:
1. You have mentioned a new "game mechanic" many times in the past year. I tried to figure out exactly what that means but I'm not really sure. I know it is something more important and influential to the entire game than a skill or minigame, but I don't understand anything after that. Enlighten me please?

2. Have you considered close range magic combat or spells varying in casting speeds to diversify magic and balance the triangle?

3. In an earlier Q&A you mentioned that there may be an "arcade" version of Runescape Classic for those who want to pk, but don't like training skills or grinding for items. Is that still on the table?

4. Do you foresee a time when it will not be possible to add more skills to the game because it would be too complicated for new members? (People already familiar with the game can process new additions much faster because they know everything else, where new players have to learn the new skill plus everything else, which is becoming a very daunting task.)

5. The in-game music has long been criticized for being corny and not in sync with the tastes of the games demographic. Are there any plans to appeal to the metal and rap fans that use out of game music for their pk montages and other videos rather then Runescape's?

6. Some skills/skillcapes, such as cooking, fletching, and firemaking are known as "buyable" or "fail capes" because of how easy it is to max them out and the minimal uses of having them at 99. Are there any plans to make them more respectable, or bring other capes to their level of ease?

I just asked why you couldn't get any Kudos from telling Historian Mines in the Varrock Museum about the history revealed in Missing My Mummy.
Adley23
I hope its goin to be better than the last one's =/

Alright MMG, where are your answers. I hope I get something, although at last check there were 200+ pages aware.gif

Various errors:

Look at the penultimate line. At the end. I almost laughed my 'assess' off.

The answer should be in bold.

Look at the last paragraph:
Turning a singular noun into a plural noun does not mean adding 's !

Why can't people just use Windows Media Player, iTunes, Winamp, or any other music player? doubt.gif
