Hello, this is just an update i think this site should have.
I believe that topic starters should be given the option to block people from making comments on their topic or be able to delete certain comments. For example, if someone responds to your topic with a response that you feel does not belong"like use of profanity or just immaturity" i think the topic starter should be given the right to delete that persons comment and block them from making anymore posts on their topic(s).
I know that you can report people for these things; however, you cant stop them from posting on your topic during that time, so i think that it would be a wise update to give the topic starter the right to delete comments or block certain users from commenting.

This is a forum and everyone is allowed to post anywhere. If a post is offensive, a mod will delete it.

true but thats why this is should be an improvement.....if you get those people who keep responding to your threads you as the topic starter should have the right to delete their posts and block them from posting anymore. I know mods can do this but theres no need to get a mod to delete immature comments because sometimes there not breaking the rules and they are just being immature and you would not like them posting anymore comments

Anyone can post anything they want if it's not against the rules. Just because someone started a topic, they don't have the right to moderate that discussion.

Take the time to think about how this could be easily abused. Moderators are reliable, and they fill out their reports pretty quickly. There should be no need for topic starters to delete any replies.

yes they are reliable but i think as the topic starter you should at least have a little control over your own topic.

You can request its closure. Any other power is completely unnecessary.

Like I said, think about how this could be abused. You could have immature Johnny over here deleting Bobby's intelligent posts, only because they have a little feud.

Now I'm not saying that everyone would abuse it, but I can think of some people here who would.

Thread starters would just delete any post that goes against what they've posted about.
And you can already block users.

Plus, mods get bored, they love thread close requests!

If you want as much control as you're asking for, you can use a blog entry and the comment systems. You can edit comments, delete comments, and set up private entries.

You have been yelled at people so many time's that your wrong or given advice (I think you know what I mean) that you want this? That's a good thing here, the report if it's really bothering you. Otherwise Moderating your own thread isn't up to you.

NOTE: To many people will abuse it, if it goes to someones side then you can delete comment's and block the user from say's more and that's unfair.

Starting a topic does not imply you own it in any way. If you wish to filter out responses, there's blogs for that.

If it's not against the rules, it has no reason to be deleted. If you don't like some of the comments, here's all there's to it: "too bad".
