This is very much a work in progress...bear with me tongue.gif

This Guild/Clan is open to all, there are no applications, no minimum levels or capital requirements, you are free to come and go as you please at any time although you will benefit yourself by popping in on occasion to the clanchat as others will share there tips with you....it is your choice.

My Clanchat helpers do have the powers to kick if you are a nuisance and simply wish to spam, you have been warned...and it is frequented by the occasional player mod for those who wish to be truly disruptive tongue.gif

Welcome to the Money Guild, the new place for aspiring traders to learn the secrets of making money without the merchant clans driving up prices un-nessesarily. Did you know that if you take 1M startup capital and simply trade within safe limits of the natural ebb and flow of a nice, stable market you make as much money as someone who manages to buy up everything at lowest and dump right at the top of a spike? Interesting to note that only 1% of people trading using such ponzi schemes sell right at the top and make money, the others dont achieve that potential, prefering to sell early or miss it entirely and watch their investment crashing...even if you bought your items right at the start, you are still stuck with unsellable items while the market stabilises, usually 4-6 weeks overall.

Need someone to do the maths properly but 1M making 3-5% and profit reinvested is far better than a straight 5% with no interest earnt. This is why I make this guild, for all those who wish to learn but have never been able to find anything good to try at the start before gaining confidence and moving onto new items.

This guild can help you make you money albeit slowly, however you have to be patient, if you want to have the false promise of billions then I am sure some clan will accomadate you and find a new home for your cash.

The clan leaders, namely me will not be doing the same items as everyone else, occasionally our paths will meet and we will do the same item, then part and you will find yourself sharing the items with others...what this ensures is that not everyone is driving prices upwards, this is the anathema of trading, it makes it impossible to buy anything, impossible to produce anything with efficiency and impossible to sell anything after the inevitable crash. We do not ever tell anyone to buy for maximum although there will surely be times when someone will figure out what clans are merchanting next simply because an item refuses to buy, whether you buy at maximum is your own choice, we simply do not ever recommend it. What goes up surely must come down and that is what we rely on.

In a pool of 100 items thus identified if 100 people are doing 50 different items there is next to no chance of a spike or crash unless an outside force takes over, now get the same 100 people doing the same 1 item and you have chaos wink.gif

The techniques we employ is looking at charts mostly, we find stable items that flow up and down and yet dont spike or crash, all we do is buy at a price roughly 50% of bottom price and middle and then sell back at middle price, following the natural contours and always making money.

This has two effects, it ensures there is always stock being bought and sold and keeps things steady, it is when one of these crucial systems breaks down you have rapidly rising prices or crashing prices.

This is an example of a good item for our purposes of stabe merchanting:

Adamant Platelegs

As you can see it has very common high and low points meaning it is possible simply to trade near to those and constantly make money, no matter how slow.

This is an example of a bad item for our purposes of stabe merchanting:

Black D'hide Chaps

For the most part the buyline is all over the place, there is no consistancy and while it may be good when prices are low, there is no real guarantee that it is ever going to stop in one place for long....either up or down.

The best types of items to buy are high volume and low priced goods, a whip may very well jump 25k in a day, but all you need are 25,000 iron knifes bought at minimum and then sold one coin piece higher to make the same effect, which far greater safety to your bank balance; trade low, trade many is the key to great wealth wink.gif

I have opened my clanchat for this "Guild" where some other experienced players can give you general advice, we have identified a great many items as a group so they have heard it all before, you have nothing to fear of someone pinching your idea as we all share anyway, not one of us controls everything so there is money for all and who knows? You may get even better ideas by being there smile.gif The clanchat name is of course my Runescape username, Sparhawke_Pa

There are ranks to be had here though they do not do anything, getting them does not bring you to the inner circle where you will be todl the mysteries of life, that is free, you do not have to advertise this clanchat or try to convince anyone to buy for maximum...simply show willing to help others and explain the techniques and be creative...the best money making techniques are the simple ones, if you have a cunning mind you will do far better and show your ability to think outside the box, this is what we appreciate more than spam adverts in world 2 smile.gif

Helping others is not mandatory, but it is always appreciated and as a by-product of this you will find yourself the first to get information on good items to try, good investment opportunties and good friends simply because people will ask you first on what is good, but only if people can trust you not to screw them over tongue.gif

On occasion you will find out that a clan plans to "merchant" an item and send it soaring, I have no aversion to you buying a few units and waiting, but you have to remember that what you buy you also have to sell, for this reason there will be no advertising to "buy for maximum" at all, second chances are rare and a kick only lasts an hour....bans are a lifetime wink.gif

There is nothing wrong with buying some of an item that a clan gets hold of, if you are early it could guarantee you a good profit but only if you sell, it is not our problem that you are stuck with useless crap, do not use our clanchat to try to sell, only one warning will be given smile.gif

Our typical profits per trade are 3-5%...if a clan comes along feel free to make 20-40% and then walk away, it is those who are greedy that lose out in the long run smile.gif

On occasion you will see someone ranked mention an item, maybe a price or two...this is not an invitation to buy out 100,000 at maximum price but to first check the chart and then choose a sell price before you buy, once they are all bought sell them.

Small consistant profits are key.

Here are a list of items previously Identified, I wish to thank my ranked friends in my clanchat for helping me with these smile.gif
Be aware that prices can go down as well as up, keep your buy and sell offers within the normal price range and millions be yours, refuse to play nice and welcome to destitution and poverty, its your choice! lol

Bronze Items

Bronze is simply here to give an example, for the most part it is so low valued and/or changes so little in price or so infrequently that it is far better simply to stick to the higher valued metals such as steel+

Bronze Armour Set (legs)... Buy price 225 ~ Sell price 240
Bronze Minotaur Pouch ... Buy price 1700 ~ Sell price 1760

Dragon Items

There is one major problem for those wishing to trade in this most elite of the old school armours, and that is the inability to buy or sell more than 10 in any given four hour period when actually trading weapons and armours (not bones, bolts or arrows), as such, due to their high price and the lack of any real fluidity that market makers could bring this is a very frustrating niche and not one for lighthearted dabbling, prices can bounce up into the stratosphere and similarly fall faster than Wil.E.Coyote in a very short space of time so it is only for those who get their jollies by taking huge risks.

Definately one to avoid if you do not know the exact prices of the items you are purchasing and/or are willing to hold items for upto weeks at a time.

Dragon Halberd ... Buy price 195k ~ Sell price 195k
Dragon Impling Jar ... Buy price 288k ~ Sell price 300k
Dragon Spear ... Buy price 37,000 ~ Sell price 37,000
Dragon Sq Shield ... Buy price 307k ~ Sell price 307k
Dragon Battleaxe ... Buy price 120k ~ Sell price 120k
Dragon Bitter ... Buy price 380 ~ Sell price 420
Dragon Bolts ... Buy price 3950 ~ Sell price 4200
Dragon Bolts (e) ... Buy price 4025 ~ Sell price 4250
Dragon Halberd ... Buy price 195k ~ Sell price 195k

Dragon Dagger (p+) ... Buy price 30100 ~ Sell price 30600
Dragon Mace ... Buy price 29700 ~ Sell price 30300
Dragon Med Helm ... Buy price 59900 ~ Sell price 63000
Dragon Skirt ... Buy price 171k ~ Sell price 171k
Dragon Scimitar ... Buy price 100k ~ Sell price 100k

Iron Items

Iron is simply here to give an example, for the most part it is so low valued and/or changes so little in price or so infrequently that it is far better simply to stick to the higher valued metals such as steel+

Iron Bar ... Buy price 235 ~ Sell price 245
Iron Armour Set (legs) ... Buy price 785 ~ Sell price 805
Iron Armour Set (skirt) ... Buy price 765 ~ Sell price 785
Iron Minotaur Pouch ... Buy price 2000 ~ Sell price 2100
Iron Pickaxe ... Buy price 225 ~ Sell price 237

Mithril Items

Mithril is a funny one, many people think of getting mithril armour to be a major milestone however when I looked through the entire database virtually all the items were dead. Mithril items are definately ones to avoid trading in at all, except for grapples which wouldn't keep still long enough for me to get an accurate price.

Mithril Minotaur Pouch ... Buy price 2400 ~ Sell price 2450
Mithril Pickaxe ... Buy price 650 ~ Sell price 675

Potions
All potions are based on 4 dose, if you get lesser doses you have the ability to decant them, thereby getting the empty vials in return which you can then sell for money, fill with water for money and/or re-use.

Having said the above, potions are items to try to avoid for investment, it may be true that you can make ridiculous amounts of money with them when they soar into the sky but the opposite is true that you can lose a fantastic sum when they crash into the ground...it is much better to use them for yourself rather than relying on them making you a profit, or only for the speculative brave.

It may be worth revisiting the hcarts in a few months when they have settled a little, it is too early after recent updates to give an accurate overview.

Antifire Potion ... Buy price 800 ~ Sell price 850
Anti-poison Potion ... Buy price 640 ~ Sell price 660
Anti-poison Potion++ ... Buy price 6850 ~ Sell price 8150
Combat Potion ... Buy price 870 ~ Sell price 660
Super Strength Potion ... Buy price 4200 ~ Sell price 4300
Saradomin Brew ... Buy price 2700 ~ Sell price 2850

Pouches

A lot of pouches are just for training, they bounce up and down constantly but no one seems to be all that interested in using them, the bunyip, unicorn and war tortoise are all exceptions though...however, they do have a tendency to shoot up in price on occasion so are worth a look once in a while smile.gif

Adamant Minotaur ... Buy price 2235 ~ Sell price 2300
Albino Rat ... Buy price 1450 ~ Sell price 1600
Arctic Bear ... Buy price 350 ~ Sell price 375

Note: I am aware that some buy prices are the same as the sell prices, this is due to them being too rigid in nature and not being able to gauge a better margin...not because I made a mistake

There are also some hidden techniques that master merchants employ and this is called by me "sliding" and this differs from flipping the stock in that when a price is going up you follow it and when it is going down you follow it.

For example:

Imagine a nature rune with the middle price of 300gp, which is losing 2gp per day, because of this people put up for sale at minimum which you can buy +1gp and then sell at middle -1gp all the way down and then back up.

A good item to try this with is adamant arrows, if the price is falling then buy at min+1 and sell at mid-1 and if the price rises buy at mid+1 and sell at max-1

It takes a day or two to figure out but it works startlingly well.

So rather than buying once at the bottom price and selling once at the top, you are buying and selling 10-20 times all the way up and all the way down again, this makes insane profits if you find a perfect item though it needs those items that are typically bought in huge 1k blocks most of the time, good luck wink.gif

Anyways, to sum up, I have opened my clanchat to help others from here and around Runescape by word of mouth, it is not simply about trading but that is one main facet, if you are a skilling expert and can share your skills and techniques that is wonderful...so please come along and chat about making money the honest way without clans!

There is only one thing I can say now at this point in time, if you lack an imagination you will likely always be stuck in a rut, only ever making profit to keep you going, if you pioneer new techiques yourself and take these ideas and learn from them and adapt to new items you will in turn become richer.

In essense, dont buy these out for maximum, try to dump when falling slightly or do anything else to screw them up, as they are stable, what goes down inevitably goes up too...you simply have to be patient smile.gif

My current clanchat guys are as follows, these can answer any questions:

Nimbo
Ajones
Dreakie
Rooocky
Edge Rocker
Midnite
Micron
Herty
9060
Kugel
Zynk
Sargon
Benno
Ajonesse
Rusty
Xpvp

Also there will be others in from time to time who may know things, all you have to do is ask tongue.gif

I edit names to stop them getting random pm's from all, if they are in the clan that is fine, it is not good to harrass them while they are skilling or fighting tongue.gif

To sum up:

Buy at stable prices
Dont ever buy for maximum
Make small consistant profits rather than trying for one huge one
Take your 3-5% and walk to something new, dont flood it out
What you buy, you also have to sell
What goes down, also goes up too eventually wink.gif
Enjoy it

Micronblast
If you find this huge block of text intimidating, I'm sure someone in the CC will explain it more briefly. Lots of effort has been put into this, do you think you could add a section for recommended items?

Here are a few of the better ones I had a look at yesterday, the Mystic Robes are the Dragonstone of Magic gear tongue.gif
Ibis pouch
Granite lobster pouch
Onyx bolt tips
Mystic robe bottom (all colours work)
Red D'hide body
Runite limbs

Great work spar biggrin.gif
Sparhawke
Thanks Micron, it sets out the basics I think, of course other things can be discussed in time and new techniques identified and formating improved smile.gif
-82-
Hey Spar!

We finally get a clan, eh? Well, more of a guild tongue.gif

I've made rather good amounts of money here, and combined with the Kingdom of Miscellania, I get rather good profits per week.

So..

Thanks wink.gif

I wouldn't mind helping new people in the chat merch.

For everyone to know, lots of thing have been skyrocketing lately, don't invest in lots of these items, they will FALL!

I've been thinking, we should not try to make this a huge guild/chat.
As the members flow in, before you know it we have an unofficial merchanting guild.

"Oh look it's a good time to buy avantoes now!"
Inexperienced rich players buy them out and manipulate prices and some people will lose money.

So I say, don't advertise this to the general public. Instead, keep it so we all understand each other on this.
Sparhawke
I haven't been advertising this to the general public, but bringing in one or two from around Rs that need a bit of help maybe which is the whole point...in time more people will come in as word spreads and that is a good thing.

If I start spam advertising everywhere it would be too chaotic to control...lets faceit, the average person doesnt have a clue what is going on so has to be shown he ropes, imagine trying to do that with 100 people coming in at once?
-82-
I've been spreading the word to my friends, yet only one has answered wink.gif He does come into the chat though, so thats good.

On another note, I just did another all nighter ^.^

I average reading 100 pages/hour I think tongue.gif

Glad to see you posted a topic, although I only just noticed it. tongue.gif

Just found something that newbie traders might be interested in and this involves a little killing too...

Simply buy some emeralds (cut) at middle price or 10-20gp under market and then fletch them into bolt tips and sell right back for maximum price, depending on whether prices are going up and down you can make more or less...but I just tested it earlier with 70 gems and made 15k in 5 minutes, so it works a treat for that starters capital.

Will get around eventually to doing some more lists soon, had brother staying over so not had a chance lol

Hiya to everyone reading this biggrin.gif
Diabba
I'd love to join this Guild. biggrin.gif May I be put on the Member's List? And I know that we are here to learn about merchanting, and experimenting with our own prices is good, but can you please put the buy and sell prices for the recommended items at the bottom of the main post?

Hello new people, just come along to the clanchat and say Hi! biggrin.gif

I have added steel items and summoning pouches to the list smile.gif

(Goth, take a look at the above explanation of the emerald bolt tips, you need to buy and sell at the right times though)

guys, buy dragon darts now at high(so the price rises even more)...you shud get money back tho anyway

sell in around 4-6 days when its at around 750-800gp

make 100-200gp profit per dart
ive bought 3k of them=====600k profit...not bad i guess

That, unfortunately, is not how we function. Spiking prices is disruptive to the economy and our CC is not one of the clans that decide to wreck random items and scam members of cash. We constantly take small cuts of stable items. If you couldn't care less about our method, then by all means leave and never return, if you're interested drop by the CC and someone will help you along.

If people wish to listen to you and follow the illusion of imaginary riches that is their fault, and they pretty much deserve to lose their money.

I would appreciate it if you keep off my topic if all you are going to do is tell people to chase merchant clans empty promises.

If you had read the first post you would know that we're not a manipulation clan and we NEVER buy for max. Basically, repeating what Spar said, do not post items being manipulated by other clans on this thread.

I'm f2p spar. pfft.gif

Well.. 120k? Only thing I can think of is buying eyes of newts from Betty and selling them to the G.E. Alright profit.

Could be rather boring though pfft.gif
Sparhawke
I have added talismans to the mix, simply because they needed to be covered...they are not that great for stable trading though so for the most part I put in the bottom prices.
The Who?
Thanks for the great system Spar! One thing though, could you explain a little more how you get the prices so that other people like me can contribute items that we find. Right now I can guess if an item will be good for merchanting, but without knowing how to really read the graphs I can never be sure. Sorta like feeding fish s teaching how to fish sorta thing if you know what I mean.
Thanks.

Hai guise, sorry I haven't been available for a while but I have been at my bothers looking after his dogs while he was in America.

I haven't managed to have a look at the charts recently but hope to soon, just as soon as the GE update to the price caps settles.

One thing you should probably know though is that at new years end when I do have my 1,000,000,000 goal total, anything above and beyond that is going in the party chest and all my helpers are invited specially...with a special present smile.gif

I couldn't have done it without you smile.gif
