What is the BEST free host that will give you a mysql database with phpmyadmin, I want one that will allow ANY file type (unlike zymic) and has quite a large storage space and bandwidth, any ideas?

He wants the best.

I've spent weeks trying to find the best free webhost, and http://www.byethost.com/ wins easily. It's a little complicated to use compared to many webhosts, but if you're using PHPMyAdmin and MySQL, you're most likely advanced enough to figure it out.

It gives you an unlimited number of e-mail addresses, 50 each of sub, addon, and parked domains, 50 MySQL databases (or 50 MB, whichever comes first), 5 gigabytes of disk space, and about 200 gb of bandwidth.

It runs Vistapanel, it's a freeware admin cp that's terrible. Gives you good space though. smile.gif

As long that it doesn't block like half of the file types (like it did with zymic) then I am ok, the space on that is huge, I enjoy having email addresses so I might go for that.

Just tried this, I tried to install what I needed, told me this error "403 forbidden", I would prefer it if I could have access to connecting to the mysql database.

I don't know why you wouldn't have access to it... I know I do, I've already programmed this database to be prepared for MechScape's release: http://mechhelp.net/database/item/?sterm=a&stype=name (Yeah, those are RuneScape items, and there's only three, but it's just to be as prepared as possible.) Or maybe I'm misunderstanding you... Probably something wrong with the username, password, or server name you're putting in...I know I messed that up a lot before I figured out what they were really supposed to be.

I've used byethost.com for a year and actually switched to FreeHostia afterward. They may have some nice allowances compared to other hosts, but there was major down time with ByetHost. I wouldn't suggest it.

Here is a website that may be of assistance in finding a free web host. Do some browsing around then trial & error. I'm sure you'll find one that will fit you.

Hmm...the only downtime I've had so far was when they suffered from a DDOS attack. Hope I don't get any more.

And that website seemed very outdated when I used it, but there's still some good links on there.
