You know, "four-man band" can refer to half of all rock bands that ever existed. Asking for a favorite four-piece act is the same as "What's your favorite band?". More than half of everyone will name a four-piece act. In fact, a lot of three and five man bands at one point existed as four-piece acts.

She has a valid point, you know. I was asking for favorite trios because it really is harder to have a really good band with only three people, mostly because it means each person has to not only be amazing at what they do because they have less people to make up for their mistakes, but it also means that one or two of them has to sing AND play an instrument, which is easier said than done. I mean, other bands do it well too, but it's easier for them..

Yes, and these are accurate statistics... because everyone listens to metal? I'm speaking in general here, of all the popular bands in rock music, more than half are four-piece groups. Metal bands like to go with five or more, but metal bands are not all bands.

Ya, that's what I was thinking. Plus, I lose respect for people who lose respect for people for listening to mainstream music.
Mainstream is not inherently good or bad. It just happens to be popular. That should have no effect whatsoever on whether someone listens to it or not.
If they like it then they should listen to it. Otherwise they'll end up like those people who listen to a band because nobody has heard of them and then if they become popular that person is like "O HEY I LIKED THEES GUISE WHEN IT WUS KULE, THEY HAV CHANGED MAN! THEY HAV CHANGED!" when they blatantly haven't changed, they've just found mediums that reach a whole wider audience and all the new fans probably would've been fans before, they just didn't know that the band even existed back then. End transmission.
