Steampunk'd
Is anyone familiar with the term steam-punk? Well basically, it refers to an alternate historical line, mainly technology. It follows the what if thing, say what if we used this to make that or what if that person lived to be a pioneering scientist Well, that is what I'm going to base my RP on. hopefully this will be a breath of fresh air to this RP community, where i see a lot of old RPs redone or tweaked to make them look different. Anyways, lettuce begin!

Story
In the history of humanity, there have been focal points of our existence. Like when lightning struck a tree and we discovered fire, or the first working wheel was fashioned. Often, these points can culminate in a person rather than an event, who changes the human way of life forever, like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, or a cataclysmic/historic event(s) which places humanity on an entirely different path. This is the story of one such chain of events.
In the early 1900s, when technology was just beginning to emerge, to progress to what it is today, a girl named Alessandra Recmire was born. Born into a poor working class British family in, her chances of survival, as all young children in her status, was limited. In our time-line, she died of whooping cough at age 4. Little would we know, this little girl could have made the most remarkable discoveries in the history of humanity.
In this alternate time-line, a small, seemingly insignificant detail was to change that. Instead of her mother working in the kitchen of the local nobleman, she worked in the laundry. Because of this, Her mother did not contract whooping cough from one of the scullery maids, and so didn't infect her child.
At the age of 16, Alessandra was stacking new coal into the stove, when she happened upon an odd rock. It looked like coal, and had the same soot, but it exuded it own warmth. Curiously, she tried to crack open the coal to see if it was burning from the inside. When she cracked it, she was thrown back with great force, knocking her against the wall, unconscious.
It is the eve of the 125th year on which Alessandra disappeared from existence. Humanity has progressed immeasurably. Because of Alessandra, a new, extraordinarily powerful element was discovered; Terbinim. This element, when harnessed properly, can efficiently, and safely, produce massive amounts of energy, even in minuscule amounts. Of late, a new property of Terbinim has been discovered. Under bombardment by gamma or other radioactivity, it emits a field which distorts space and time.
Experiments on this property have just begun. A combined effort between all of the first world countries (Australia, most of Europe, China, India, Japan, USA, Canada, etc.). Little will they know what this will do for the future of humans and Earth...

History: Ross isn't very boring. He isn't a freelance journalist, but he acts like one. He's like a cop on a movie: Bending the rules of his work to get what he wants. Ross goes on jobs that were assigned to others, just to see if he could make a better story than he does. He does this so much, he's been threatened to have been fired twice.

History: Sam Axe, the son of a Navy Admiral and a Congresswoman, was born in a near-deserted town in Kansas. Once he turned 18, Sam went to West Point and studied to be a scientist. Sam graduated top of his class with his major in engineering. Sam works primarily out of a military base in D.C. developing new weaponry.

History: For the most part, Ackart cruised through school, getting top grades in almost every subject. When he got out of high school, he went into the military. However, because of an accident, he had to have his leg amputated (He now wears a pegleg), so he left the army, then went to college and studied deeply in physics, afterwards becoming a physicist and working at a lab.

History: The son of a surgeon, Leo's father earned enough to keep them both alive and in a house. Leaving the house at 20, he joined the military and received advanced firearms training and became an expert with sniper rifles. After a few years of serving, Leo was honourably discharged; returning home to Cincinnati, he became a surgeon, like his father, and often spoke about his experiences in foreign lands.
However, 2 months later, he was called back to duty in Europe; obeying the command, Leo wrote his will to give everything he had to his brother, Kel, and traveled across the Atlantic once more.

History: As i said born in Italy but raised in America, he was taken over so young that he doesn't have an accent and knows very little Italian, English is his first language. His father worked at a university until his retirement and his mother lives in Italy, Mike hasn't seen her since his father brought him overseas to America. Mike's original last name was De Luca, but he got it legally changed when his band hit it big. He is currently on tour with his band all over America, and lives in Las Vegas.
