Sal has completely given up on everything until the refresh.

Why would you scroll all the way to the bottom to find a link to the guide? You can basically see all the links that are there without scrolling down. Or you could just use the Site Search feature.

Personally, I like to be able to scroll down and to see all the old updates from back in '08. tongue.gif

when is that going to be?

There's nothing wrong with seeing some old news at the bottom of the website (with bottom being the key word). It does give us a quite 'oldie' feeling laugh.gif . I'm presuming that with the Site Revamp, the news from 2008 will be moved into the archives. But that's just my guess.

That's not true. As far as I know, he's still been updating the site with new guides and news.

The Site Revamp is still in progress. Fatalysm is in the midst of creating the new site layout, which you can check the progress here. There was an Official Site Poll that requested members to input their opinions on what needed fixing, what needed updating, their thoughts on some things etc. You can look at that here. Salmoneus is currently working on some new calculators that don't require the use of Java (correct me if I'm wrong). And most importantly, there are lots of new guides being written by the members here and new things being added to our Database's everyday. The Revamp might not be for a long time considering the amount of work.

But we can't be certain.

What in the world is your monitor resolution? For me, and most others, you do need to scroll down a bit to find the Guides Links. It might also depend on how big their screen is, but I'm sure that you can't see news as old as 08 when scrolling down to find the Guides.

Sal actually told me that it should be done sometime this Summer or in the later part of the year.

Err, No he hasn't.

The main page only really needs 5-10 news articles but it has a ridiculous amount. As is write this I can count at least 60.

An unnecessarily long page that takes the new out of news

True a few articles could be cut out...

My suggestion is to leave up news from the one month. For example, now, being August, we'd have only news that has been made in August 2009. That provides a shorter amount and still retains the concept of 'recent' news. If it were the start of August, we'd have late July's news up.

Of course, this is my voice.

I was referring to the fact that how can people find it annoying to have such old news when they don't even need to scroll down to the bottom to find the links? Like so:

You only really need to scroll down a tiny amount. I don't see how a long list of news articles detoriates the ability to find links to the guide you're looking for. pfft.gif

But, yes, I do stand corrected, and you do need to scroll down slightly to find links to guides. But that still doesn't change anything. tongue.gif

That would make sense as the guides are archived in months, I still think it's too much.

It's hardly that much. A month has the odd 5 - 10 news points, most of which are quite short, so it wouldn't stretch the page extremely. This also depends on Fatalysm's end design result.
