The Who?
I'm a little unhappy about the closure of the topic about the dwarven musket. I thought that as long as you did a good job explaining the idea you would most likely avoid closure. Is there any really concreat rule on this? If so what is it, and if not please write one! smile.gif

On another note it seems that the stickies for items and spells/skills are woefully neglected. It's just page after page of short ideas and no one ever records them, so they all go unnoticed. Allot of these ideas are actually pretty good and could be turned into full fledged ideas, but few people are willing to go through 40 pages of ideas. Is there any chance that someone could organize the first post so that it includes the ideas posted in a spoiler? (I wouldn't mind doing it actually. It might take me a while, but I already go looking through the stickies for ideas.)

Thanks.

i thought before you posted an idea that contained a do not suggest thing you were supposed to pm a mod and ask them if it was ok.

That's sort of standard but not required.

However there is extraordinary disapproval of any type of modern firearm of any sort (basically anything that isn't a bow of some form.) and as a result even if it's a good suggestion it most likely will never get put into the game especially considering the firearm is directly from the RSOF.

I was also quite disappointed with the closure of that, it seems like an ok idea and was made more modern with the word musket, I think it sorta needs debating about if it should be closed or not, I for one think not.

Despite the Elaboration Rule being there, in a normal situation (without consulting a staff member), I believe that the Forbidden Items would overrule said rule.

QUOTE ("Suggestion Rule 8")
[08] Any suggestion dealing with any type of gun or firearm.

Note the emphasis on 'any'. Guns/Firearms are far beyond the setting of RuneScape (which would be medieval of course).

Also note the seventh rule:

QUOTE ("Suggestion Rule 7")
[07] Modern or futuristic items. (ion cannons in RuneScape?)

And concerning error404:

QUOTE ("error404")
...and was made more modern with the word musket

The thing is, items like these are not supposed to be modernized or made more modern. - see below post.

You're suggestion's explanation is as below:

QUOTE ("The Who?")
The dwarf Musket is constructed of rune, and is blue in color, as all rune. The gun is rather large in size (about the size of a Two-Handed Sword), and is a yew-color in the stock. Although slower then most weapons in RuneScape, the Dwarf Rifle packs an incredible punch at a fair range. It operates on Metal Bullets only (Quests may be added, of new ammunition and muskets). The character will hold it with both hands, stock at shoulder, and fire. They will then rest it on the ground, pull back the slide, releasing the cartridge, and will put in a new cartridge. They will then hoist it back up and fire again. The Dwarf musket may only be constructed once, from the quest. But Skeleton Dwarf's will drop them as a rare drop. They will sell to a general store for 74K, low alchemy for 37.4K, and high alchemy for 128K. metal bullets will be made with the Smithing skill, and require a level of 70, and a steel bar will give off 5 bullets. Bullets will sell to a general store for 100 coins, low alchemy for 57, and high alchemy for 213.

See the bold words: Gun, Rifle, Bullets, Ammunition. These words make the suggestion very much modern, and I doubt that Dwarves could use such a thing.

It would certainly make the thread easier to search. Perhaps the list would index all the items or skills with what page number they're on next to it...

Edit: @below - I see.

Sorry ment to say less modern lol and I mean the bold words you highlighed, can't they be reworded? Although it is under the do not suggest rules, I think the do not suggest rules are very harsh, so harsh that I see not many suggestions being posted

I'd rather less suggestions being posted then being flooded with moronic suggestions on a daily basis like it was.

Moronic suggestions get locked obviously but I think the no suggest rules need to be more flexible.

Its been said thousands of time before, I made a suggestion for old age pistols as a mage weapon where runes are crushed to create different powders. Was a very elaborated suggestion and was stil lshut. Surely if a topic follows the other suggestion rules this one is unneeded?

The big point for me is that there should be something in the rules about contacting a mod if you want an exception to a rule. As is there is nothing in there saying that as far as I know, yet I've gotten around rules before just by clearing it first and making it a good suggestion.

You could always contact a moderator to add that in the rules if you are strongly with the adding of that. But it's really common sense. If you're unsure of something or you think that it might be breaking a rule, you contact a moderator or staff member. It's what I always do.
