how can i tell if it is less than 25 kilobytes and how do i upload it and do u need a certain rank to have a avatar
Topdog
If the avatar you uploaded is larger than 25kb, there will be an error saying so. So there's not much reason to worry about having to check if your avatar is less than or goes over the limit. But if you really want to know, then A) if a picture is saved on your computer, just drag your mouse to the picture and wait for a message to show up. It'll tell you the size of that picture as well as other things. B) If a picture is up on the internet, right click on the image, and select properties. You should be able to tell the size of an image from there.

And you upload your avatar by clicking Browse in that picture that Tequilaivy posted. Just select an image that you have saved on your computer, and just press OK. Then press Update Avatar to the bottom of the Browse button, and voila.

Well, considering the fact that you have an avatar uploaded right now..

And if there's an error, then probably your avatar is larger than 25kb. Otherwise, your avatar is an image type unsupported by the forum. You can only have a GIF, JPG/JPEG, or PNG as an avatar. This means that you can't have a BMP or PSD, etc. To change the extension of the file, just go to like MS Paint and save as one of the supported types.
