okay if u go under the options display u can change the format of how post's appear
standard form witch has everyone's post's displayed or when i just say's the name of person,time etc, why do we even have this second option and why was it made the standard and you had 2 switch out of it?

I'm sure the option is just there because it gives us a choice, although most people I know use the standard setting i'm sure some people use the 'outline' setting, where posts are hidden until you want to display them. The standard setting is the first you described, this is just an alternative.

Some people like the standard setting, some people like the linear or outline setting. It's all down to personal preference. But I guess it can be sort of a pain for some people whenever something like this occurs. But that's easily fixable.

I believe it's more for web crawlers than people. Links from search engines often return a page using a different display mode, at least for me anyway. This includes results for Sal's forum too.
