You put a little too much work into the pattern (which doesn't look very good in my opinion) instead of putting it in the actual outline and realism of it. The main thing you gotta do with abstract drawings is make it look so realistic, it's even more weird.

That was my first abstract so started with a line and went from there.
And for the patterns, I don't like the turtle shell myself, but how could I have improved the outline?
