That is incorrect. Jagex has a set of guidelines to follow when creating and releasing 3rd party software for their games.

As long as it goes through the main page, it's not illegal.

I wouldn't use yours though, just because I don't trust you - which is only because I don't know you.

Only if I gives a player an unfair advantage of any kind. If it doesn't it's just not advised since, most likely, it has a virus or keylogger in it.

I don't use any 3rd part software anymore. I used to use SwiftSwitch (back when it was still called that) pretty often. It's a good program and all, but I just stick with what Jagex gave me.

You need to be trusted by people, if you go on RS and no one knew you and you asked everyone to see if they liked what you made and to download something for it; first word that will come out if something like hacker or virus.

Don't get me wrong I already watched your video for it, it looks nice. I might take a look if I ever get to know you enough to download it. It looks a lot like SwiftKit to be honest, and did you ever add that IRC Chat I asked you to? tongue.gif

lol thanks i.

its deff's legit im trying to get it used amongst my friends so it travels via word of mouth and yeh im working on the IRC client now, im currently working on the codes for the skill calculator man its a pain. Im gonna post it for everyone to use so they dont have to go through the same pain im going through LOL!

but use it if you want i dont like making virus's only programs and if you like it tell your friends. I have a registered ABN (australian business number) so any malware i can get sued for as the hosting is done through my business hosting.

like i said. im doing this thing for real to get honest ppl using honest software..

thanks for the feedback guys :-)

Yeah, I don't trust Runescape-client.com. Not that I play the game anyway.

Security is a big concern for most people, as it should be. I personally wouldn't use it because they don't provide any benefit to my game-play. Everything they provide I already have at my fingertips by opening another browser tab.
Yippee
I have Tip.It's microhelper, and that has all I need that I'm too lazy to open a new tab for. Besides, I'm constantly doing things while I play, such as doing some web programming, so I have to have my browser open anyway and switching tabs is a whole lot easier than switching windows. And with Opera I can have them side by side.

That said, I like the guy who just likes programming for the sake of programming, and you're not making people pay for this. And I like Sal's and doing favors for it's members. So...I decided to download it and run a few scans on it.

First, I scanned the ZIP file with AVG:

Then I extracted it and scanned with Windows Defender and again with AVG:

I'm updating AdAware right now to scan it with that. If anyone else has a program that they trust better, tell me about it and I'll probably scan it with that too.

I'd probably just use a trusted help site's one. Or just open up another tab because the client would probably slow the game down.

No, I wouldn't use a 3rd party client, simply because a browser provides all I need. If I need to look up highscores or something, it's easy enough to open a new tab.

I find Swiftkit to provide anything I could reasonably want for help with Runescape. I needed a fair bit of persuading from friends to start using it, but I realise now that it was worth it smile.gif
