Man's just taking the piss and so is everyone else voting for him. The competition is utterly biased on the user, rather than the quality of the signature.

shepherd's sig is using a nice style.

So I wasn't the only one thinking that..this just screams the word biased..

3pts:Shepherd, It's nice and clean, in a good way, good use of the stock, fits nicely
2pts:Alanna, I like the effects but the red spot near her face needs to be removed, it's to distracting, text is okay though.
1pt:Ahmad, I like it, it's pretty good. But the pentool could be better, and the text could be better. And just lower the amount of white used.

Whats there to envy...? I have absolutely no idea why everyone is picking his sig. I believe people have forgotten how to vote for this kind of competition.

First off, you don't vote for who matches the theme best. The theme is there so people can have an idea of what to make.

Secondly, you vote on the sig that you believe was created the best. Following the guidelines for sigs (lighting, effects, colors, etc.).

Obviously people are voting his sig for other INVALID reasons.

Anyways, here are my votes:

3 points: Shepherd: Very well made, colors are good.
2 points: Zal: The effects are nice.
1 point: Ahmad: The colors are nice.

3 points: Man. Very creative. It really goes against the restraints of artistic norms and displays Man's creativity.
2 points: Ahmad. Goes together really well, I like the color scheme.
1 point: Shepherd. Love the style. The background goes together well with the renders.

They're doing this as an inside joke, because they're very funny.

Anyways, Vera, hlow, sp0rts, dwarrior, xrvn, adam?, mr carter and man are just doing this for laughs, so just ignore them.

I dont think there are even enough serious votes in this topic to warrent a competition just man's friends making a big joke out of it.

How dare you suggest our votes should not be counted simply because, in your opinion, man's sig couldn't possibly be seen as good through anyone's eyes. I can't believe the nerve of some people.

There is no rule against voting for, in our opinions, what we think is the best signature in this Sotw competition. Just because the other voters don't see mans signature as great doesn't mean that other people don't.

If it was a decent sig, then yes I can see where you're going for that, but since it is a piece of crap, then no... FAILz.

In your eyes it isn't crap because you're good friends with Man. The competition is utterly biased, and if signatures were submitted anonymously with no one but the competition holder knowing who made what, then his signature would not receive any votes.

Thats not a bad idea actually. To make the voting topics anonymous. I say we take a vote for that, to re-adjust the rules so that people can't make these biased votes.

But isn't one of the main rules of SOTW that your name has to be visible?

We're sorry...we know Man's isn't the best...but he worked so hard.

The problem is, people won't be allowed to add their names to their pieces because of it wouldn't be anonymous, and thus ripping could occur. But we could still go ahead with that.

Voting's over, the graphics section is getting less and less active everyday and voting like this drives more people away, I won't bother counting but it's clear Man won. Anyone feel free to make a new SOTW topic.

I'm withdrawing my entry in protest against Representative Joe Wilson's heckling, as well as for other reasons. I am a stranger in a strange land, I have found that I do not belong here. I will never be accepted.

No, you vote on what one you like the best, and what looks the best to you. The others didn't appeal to me, so (pre-edit) didn't merit top vote.

Unlike Man's sig, Gillis' sig in 49 was actually amazing and definitely deserved to win. Man's sig is just an lq thrown together at lightning speeds, without (it seems) too much thought.

Ouch. That was pretty harsh. You can't just call something someone worked hard for a piece of crap. Man has put a lot of effort into that signature and deserves credit.

No, you DO vote for the sig that was created best. That is the whole point of SOTW. To choose the best sig.


They are many people who work hard on their projects and don't receive even the tiniest recognition. And I doubt that it took so long to create such a sig.

Personally, I would like to end this entire dilemma as it's starting to get a little out hand with the flaming. But people constantly find a new way to bring back the argument...
