Prologue
When God created the Human race, his rival Satan, felt he should do something big as well.
So, he created a race of creatures which he named Vampires. They were superior to Humans, more agile, stronger and smarter.
Vampires were killing machines; they were the best predator the world had seen. They looked much like Humans, but what made them such good predators was that Humans were attracted to them. Everything about them, every attribute attracted Humans.
God saw that many of his Humans were being brutally murdered and his love for everything prevented him from destroying the Vampires. So he cursed them, which he hoped would save his creation.
He made Vampires extra sensitive to UV lights, allergic to everything religious, prevented them from entering Human establishments uninvited and took away their souls.
This curse saved many Humans, but this was thousands of years ago and Vampires have finally adapted.
Chapter 1 Bloodthirsty
A young Vampire stalked through the moonlit streets of New York. He was very tall, muscular, and extremely beautiful. As he stepped out of an alley the moon spilled across his dark face. He had short blonde hair, and his face looked like it was carved by angels.
You would think this was a normal human, until you looked into his eyes. They were all white, apart from a small black pinprick in the middle. Staring into them was like being pulled inside, they had a weird type of hypnosis, and this was Vampires most used skill.
He scoured the streets dark streets of New York, looking for a victim.
He walked down a street so dark, it was hard to see. But Vampires had a certain ‘shine’ in their eyes, which enabled him to see very clearly in the dark.
His eyes were fixed on the ground, which was very foggy, until he heard footsteps. His head jerked up instantly and he saw a woman approaching him, stumbling around the side walk.
She passed him and he swung around to follow her. She was obviously drunk, shouldn’t be much of a challenge for a Vampire.
After a few metres the woman turned around to confront her stalker. She was wearing a very short red dress with a matching handbag and a brown coat. The clanking footsteps were explained by the high heels. She had long brown hair which spilled down over her shoulders. Her face was indistinguishable; it was cloaked with a dark shadow.
“What do you want?” she said in a very slurred voice.
“I just want to talk,” replied the Vampire, in a voice that sounded like it was sung by a choir.
Even though she couldn’t see the Vampires eyes, she was still hypnotised by his beautiful voice, because of her weakened and drunken state.
They linked arms and continued walking down the gloomy street.
The Vampire looked up at the sky; the moon was at its highest, midnight.
He stopped walking when they came to the entrance of an alley.
“What are you doing?” the women asked.
“Come with me,” he replied, pulling her into the dark alley.
When they were deep in the shadows, she stood up tall and leaned towards his face, trying to kiss him. As their lips touched the Vampire grabbed the woman by the throat and lifted her up with one hand. As she started choking he threw her against the wall, a distinct cracking sound echoed.
The woman slumped to the ground, groaning with pain. The Vampire walked towards her, and she started sobbing and begging immediately.
“Please,” she cried, “why are you doing this, I don’t even know you.”
A tear ran down the Vampires cheek, “I have to,” he whispered in her ear.
He pulled her hair back and opened his mouth wide. His fangs had extended and his eyes turned all red, the frenzy had begun.
He bit deeply, and the woman screamed. He drank the blood greedily, not letting any of it go to waste. Within minutes the woman was limp and her body was drained.
The Vampire stood and wiped his mouth, fully satisfied.
A scuffling noise from the rooftops caught his attention; he raised his head and saw three dark figures standing on top of the alley, staring down at him.
“Weak,” one of them spat.
“shizzle,” he cursed. It was the Coven.
The young Vampire turned and ran for his life, he was a young fresh Vampire so he was very fast, faster than older Vampires.
The Coven knew this so they didn’t bother to pursue, they just stood and watched.
He ran and didn’t stop until he got to the subway. He walked down the staircase and into the deserted station.
He walked to one of the giant tiled pillars and pressed three tiles simultaneously, a door opened and he stepped inside. It was a mini elevator. He pressed the button pointing down and the elevator jerked into life. Seconds later it stopped and the doors opened, revealing a very large room hidden under the subway station.
More coming soon.
