do you get to appeal your warn 30 days after you got ur warn or 30 days after the post that got u the warn, cause the post that got me a warn was in late July, but i didnt get warned for that until mid August
Donovan
It's 30 days after the warn, not the post time.

30 days after the last warn you received, not after the last one you want to appeal. This includes all type of warns (positive, negative, or verbals). Obviously, verbal warns don't need to be appealed as they don't have an effect on your warn level.

By the way, you can appeal your warn in four days.

You can not ask for a negative (below zero) warn level!

So no, but you can appeal for warn reduction down to 0, under two conditions:
-The warn given to you was inaccurate (but you must have proof of that)
Or,
-You have waited thirty days (without getting another warn, full or verbal) and you're posts have been good, then you can ask for, and probably will receive, a warn reduction.

-_-

If you have a warn of -1, can you ask for it to be changed to zero?

Just PM the moderator that warned you (or any other moderator doesn't matter) and ask him to review your posts.

Kind of silly, tbh.

If someone didn't want the -1, they could always pull off the stunt I did. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

By negative warn I mean a previous warn appeal, such as getting from +5 to +4.

oh also does the mod who warned you have to be the person u have to appeal the warn to?

I find it best if you actually ask the mod that warned you, as I find it less biased than if you asked a mod who you got along well with.

You purposely don't ask a mod you're friends with for a warn reduction just so it won't be biased? That's... different.

All my reductions came from the same moderators that gave me those warns. I don't see how it's bad making sure it's not biased; it just shows you deserve the reduction.

In that case, any mod suffices. But then again, if said mod is not retired, it's always best to contact him/her.

Also, technically, you can appeal negative warns since there's nothing in the rules prohibiting that. tongue.gif

He was asking if you could ask for a warn level added, which is absurd.

I think you guys are getting to involved with the small print of warn reviews.

I am curious though, is it better to ask certain mods for reviews, I have been asking Eman for the last few months as we get along, is that bad or good or what?

I wander if I would be able to appeal my warns? (got warned 4 times for my siggy because I couldn't figure out how to make it smaller wacko.gif )

Your last warn was September 6th- You have to wait one month from your latest warn log addition to request an appeal.

So, you can request an appeal one month from Sep 6th, assuming you don't break any more rules. smile.gif

Fixed Thanks.

It's human nature to be biased and help those whom you have good relations with. Hard as it may be to fathom Sals Mods aren't elite warriors who've gone through years of training to rid themselves of bias and emotion. There people who happened to for various reasons be appointed a position of authority in order to better the community. That doesn't mean they do there job perfectly 100% of the time.
I doubt any mod would think in there mind "Oh i like Meidou, i'm going to overlook the fact that he's flaming" but that doesn't mean they won't go "Oh i know Meidou he probably doesn't mean it and it's not really all that bad blah blah blah"

+1

I'm an admin on another forum (ohnoez the truth, it's out!!!) and I tend to be quick to make the warning reductions for those whom I've gotten to know (we do checks. One month after a member's last warning, if they haven't been warned, we reduce one point down to no more than zero...if someone has no warnings then...yeah we don't reduce it ofc) and I tend to let the owner work out the others. Also, I confess I'm more lax on rules with people I know more... closedeyes.gif

Why would it be bad? It may look funny, but it wouldn't be bad. You're allowed to get warn reviews consecutively from the same mod, after all.

Most mods prefer redirecting you to another mod if they've been the latest to review your warns, though - in order to avoid bias and all that.
