What has happened to SpongeBob after the movie came out? It started going downhill from there, the first 3 seasons were the best.

I own the 1st season and all those episodes are pretty awesome. But since I don't have FOXTEL I don't get the new episodes . I just can't believe Spongebob has gotten bad .

Yea, the first ones were amazing, look at them now. They include so much stupid stuff. The one episode i can think of is when an Old man is in a spongebob commercial for an energy drink...i mean seriously?

I actually found that funny. But that's like 1 in 10000 jokes in new SB episodes that made me lol irl.

I havent seen spongebob since that medival episode where spongebob and patrick fight that jellyfishdragonthing. I used to love the days where splitting pants and making a song about it could fill a half hour in my life with humor.

I dunno because I hardly watch TV. It's been dragged out though, I reckon they'll have killed it by now.

Uhh.. no, they didn't hire a new writer. It's just that they're going through a common thing that all shows go through, the fact that there are no new ideas being tossed around. You saw this with other Nick shows such as Hey Arnold. It was a great show and all, but the only reason it died out was because there was really nothing new and/or creative to show.

The humor was wittier in the originals.

I used to love Spongebob! I haven't watched it a whole lot since the movie came out, but I have a few of the older episodes on dvd.
My favourites are Shanghaied! and Sailor Mouth. Jellyfish Jam was a pretty cool one too. I saw some of the new ones recently, and they weren't very funny at all. The older ones are definitely better in every way

great show in the day i still enjoy the old ones even though im way to old for it and i quote it almost everday of my life i said knuckleheadmcspazzatron but i agree the new ones just dont fill me with joy and make me breakout laughing and crying like the old ones

I still watch spongebob and I'm 14, but it's a fun show to watch. It's funny in a good sense. But I'll agree, today the humour is kinda to childish. It was a lot more funnier in the first couple seasons imo.

It actually beats most daytime television when you're sick.

The reason the first few seasons of SpongeBob were good was because you were a younger kid and now you aren't.

It was a pretty good cartoon, but it got kinda old after awhile.

I never saw the funny side of Spongebob either, but for Johnny Bravo it was alright. Still going to say my favorite cartoon ever was Courage the Cowardly Dog.

None of the Spongebob Episodes (new or original) ever really made me laugh but i could appreciate the humor in the old ones alot more and they definately were alot funnier. Unfortunately as someones already said you can only have so many ideas that are actually funny i guess they ran out finally

I liked the consistent biting wit. If I had been watching it when it was new, I wouldn't have caught at least half of the jokes in that show, I swear.

I was watching a few of the newer episodes with my younger sister a few weeks back. Honestly, the first thing I noticed is the fact they're reusing most their BAD jokes.

I'm the kinda person who finds stupid-funny comedy pretty good sometimes, but they brought it to a whole new level and now I see it as just stupid.

Also agreed, first session was pretty good and classic.
