Not to be rude or anything, but is Blingking really the most interesting person to interview? unsure.gif
Why not have a poll to see who you will interview?
Twist of Fate
People play favorites. I think that if the person who conducts the interview is really into that person, it will make for much deeper and better interview.

I think many people would disagree with you about Blingking not being "interesting," but you make a good point. A poll for who ought to be interviewed would actually be a pretty good idea. Maybe a stickie in the Lounge, where people can nominate whoever they like (besides themselves), and then the staff can pick which nominees would be suitable for an interview and then either everyone votes on those people or just the Newspaper crew. Then the person with the most votes who accepts the interview invitation has it posted. It could work.

And in the meantime, everyone should interview me, because I am very interesting. cool.gif

I epicly disagree. Any member of the staff can interview anyone they want. It doesn't have to be a decision of the people.

Sure, I'm not advocating getting rid of spontaneous interviews. But I think we should definitely find a way to integrate the community into the paper more somehow, and this is by far the best solution I've thought of so far. It wouldn't have to be every month, or every two months, but just every once in a while - preferably not too un-occasionally, though.

I think the community would appreciate some more feedback on what sort of articles we ran. Not that they appreciate our paper, of course, but it's always cool to participate in the democratic process, especially involving your friends. tongue.gif

What's wrong with catering to your audience? We should try to deliver something people actually want to read. I'm sure some people found the Blingking interview interesting, but there's nothing wrong with asking for suggestions.

I'm not sure the scape lounge is the best place for that, though. Personally, I'd like to see this section put to better use.

I guess. :L

If we post it in the scape lounge, everyone will be like "interview man, he's v interesting." or something. It wouldn't be taken seriously.

Interview me since i'm the coolest bean on the face of the earth.

But seriously i do think there should be some kind of vote it would help find players that people are genuinely interestedin learning about.

(Btw i'm not joking about the interview nor am i joking about being the coolest bean.)

Good point. The 'Scape Lounge is definitely the most frequented community-focused forum, but maybe not the best place. But where else would we have it? Nobody visits the Forum and Site Feedback forums very often, and we want lots of posts.

General Chat wouldn't be too bad a location. Maybe it could be an Forum & Site Announcement, too, although that might spontaneously cause it to burst into flames (literally). tongue.gif

Why not right here in the newspaper section?
Po22
I agree with Mutt. We once did a poll and it worked great.

Blingking's interview would have been interesting if it had been released when the Secret Forum thingy was going on. It's like 6 months late, so nobody really cares about it anymore.

So are we agreed on starting a poll then?

When did we reach that decision and since when are you part of the decision process? huh.gif

Maybe because I brought up the suggestion, most everyone agreed.

No. Po agreed and a couple others are still discussing whether or not to do it and where to do it.

The Newspaper is there to help keep slammers entertained. The interviews should maximise that.

The poll (if there is one) should be in the 'Scape Lounge, where it's going to get the most views.

That's what interviews are for; to learn about the person. Alot of these people are more interesting than I ever expected, and any member of the staff, can interview anybody that they find suitable.

Why not make a forum announcement addressing attention to a poll, stickied in the 'Scape Lounge?
