Just post the first song you ever heard from you current favorite band.
Schism by Tool. I heard it when I was like 7-8 in the car, then I heard Vicarious which was strikingly similar.

Ooh, hard to answer.
I heard my first Jack Johnson song on the radio (
Good People), and looked the lyrics up on the Internet. Then I looked for his CDs. The first CD I got was In Between Dreams

I heard my first Panic At the Disco song on some site that plays random music (forget what it's called) based on the conditions you choose (i.e. type of music, whether it's depressing or happy, low-key or hyper). Ah,
Nine in the Afternoon.
I heard my first Crosby Loggins song on the radio too,
Seriously. I liked it the moment I heard it, and Googled that too. I bought the latest album, and listen to it on my phone about every day. It's very soothing.

Prayer of the Refugee. Found it on YT.
If there's a radio in the UK that plays something other than pop, I haven't found it.

It's okay, they'll start playing Rise Against on those stations soon

My favorite band right now is KillRadio...the first song I heard by them was Scavenger. And I actually hate that one...

I heard Vicarious first
It was weird, I didn't like it at first, found it boring.. But then I listened to it while reading the lyrics and... WOW.

Tool is one of my absolute favorite bands too. The first songs I ever heard by them were Prison Sex and Sober. I can't actually remember exactly which of those I heard first though. While I like most of their music, new and old, my favorite album is still Undertow though Lateralus is a close second.
On the exact opposite end of my listening spectrum is Loreena McKennitt. I adore her

. I think the first song I ever heard was "Blacksmith" off of her Elemental album. It isn't my favorite song by her but beautifully done. I think my favorite is "Bonny Swans".

Pretty sure the first Clash song I ever heard was Rock the Casbah, which is a poor representation of the Clash's style. The first Bob Dylan song I've heard was Like a Rolling Stone. I can't say what the first Beatles and Rolling Stones songs I heard were, because they were played a lot on the oldies stations my mom used to listen to. Without a doubt, though, it was one of their most popular songs.
But I'm just thinking of knowlingly hearing songs. I probably heard plenty of Dylan and Clash long before I cared much about music, because they're two of my dad's favorites as well.

When I was in 6th grade my friend told me "Hey listen to this, he kinda sounds like Elvis, but it's good". It was Last Caress by the Misfits. And thus I dove into the world of Punk, all my other musical tastes starts from that point.

I heard Slipknot's Spit It Out back when it was first released but didn;t really get into them until after the release of Vol 3.
I heard Chop Suey by System of a Down during the interlude at a gig in Rock City, got more responce than the support band.
And I heard Led Zeppelin's Communication Breakdown blasting out of my Dad's room when he was relearning it. That must've been about 3 or 4 as it is one of my earliest memories.

I always though of Glenn Danzig as more of a Jim Morrison than an Elvis.

They're not my favorite band, but one of my early grade teachers had a Beatles 1 (a collection of the Beatle's top hits) album and she frequently played it at school while we were working. That's probably the earliest time I heard the Beatles which is still one of my favorite bands. Before that I was listening to annoying pop which my sister liked.
I don't remember the first time I heard a song from my favorite band though.

Ooh, driving home from Hull after a weekend up there, listening to the chart show on Radio 1, and Arctic Monkeys are number one with "I Bet that You Look Good on the Dancefloor".
They are my favourite band. I'm pretty sure.
