Dimos' Log to Something

Introduction

Hello and I am Dimosthimise, but since that takes too long for most people to type (unless you are me, who can type it in under a second), most people just call me Dimos. I am from the fortress of Candlekeep on the Sword Coast, who has came to Gleinor because of a miscasting of the wish spell (yes, I am bit of a D&D fanatic). But since coming to Runescape, I have decided that I like it a lot better, especially since I can just randomly kill someone without the guards going all crazy (come'on, it was only 1 guy). My favorate skill would have to be firemaking and I am follower of Guthix (I really like the color green too). My homeworld is world 47, but sometimes you can find me on world 20 playing Fist of Guthix. I am not a member, and I will probably never be a member, but I am happy with sticking to lighting fires (not to anything with me tending to play with fire in real life... aware.gif ).

Active Goal

I am currently actively working on 80 Cooking. I will be cooking trout at the Grand Exchange.

I hope to finish this by at least Thanksgiving, but hopefully sooner.

Stats
Starting Stats (September 24, 2009):

Current Stats:

My Wealth (or lack of)

Net Worth:

Updated 3 November 2009

Bank:

Updated 4 November 2009

Tab 1:

Nothing is usually held in my first tab, as almost everything is able to be sorted into one of the other tabs. If something is in it, it is usually junk that I am too lazy to drop, or I just haven't sorted it into another section.

Tab 2:

This tab holds all my currency (not too many different kinds since freeplay only has coins, FOG tokens, and Runecrafting Guild tokens). This tab also has anything I need to sell, which usually isn't very much since I am at the G.E. all the time.

Tab 3:

This tab holds all my melee and ranged gear, as well as food/strength potions. I usually use trout for its cheapness and decent healing rate. I am just trying to use up the rest of my charges on my Green D'hide coif, because I don't notice much of a difference from a normal coif and it just has to be recharged. I will also sometimes hold some random wearable items when I get them.

Tab 4:

This tab contains all my mage gear, as well as my Runecrafting supplies. I also keep teleportation/magic-like items in here (such as my skull-sceptor and explorer's ring 3). I hardly ever use or sell my runes (expect natures), so they stockpile here.

Tab 5:

I keep my general skilling gear in this tab. I also keep any resources I am planning to use (and not sell) here.

Tab 6:

This tab I keep any other item that does not fit into another category. I keep keys, unfisnished skull sceptor parts, clan event items, and the like.

Generic Goals:

Money:

I am not too rich by many players' standards, but I am not desperately poor either. Most of my money is poured into training skills. My primary way of earning money is through individual merchanting and I am against merchanting clans 100%. I also sell most of my materials from skilling, but that has earned me only a fraction of my money. My current goal is to get to 5 million and then to try to keep it above that at all times (for merchanting mostly).

Overall Level:

My current goal for my overall level is just an even 1000 to get into the skill total 1000+ worlds. On the overall experience front, I plan to just hit the next 10 million, which is 20 million total. My previous goal was for the 12.5 million experience need to post on the Official Runescape Forums, but I recently was able to achieve that.

Combat Skill Goals:

\

In combat, I am a melee fighter mostly, for the main reason that melee is the strongest combat style for f2p. Plus, Dimosthimise from my D&D campaign was a paladin. To train melee, I usually a fight cockroach workers because they provide good exp and good drops while not inflicting too much damage on me. But I can also be found training melee on the spiders in the 3rd floor of the stronghold of security. I don't have a set goal for strength right now, but I like to keep it around my attack and defense levels.

Latest Level:

I train attack identical to Strength (see above), and try to keep them at roughly the same level.

Latest Level:

( 69 )

While not strictly a melee skill, I only train defense with melee. I train it identically to attack and strength and like to keep all three at similar levels.

Latest Level:

( 66 )

Again, while not strictly a melee skill, most of my exp. for hit points comes from training melee. I recently hit my goal of 70 hit points, so currently it is just a skill that I train because it is trained during other skills.

Latest Level:

( 70 )

Ranged is my least favorite style of combat, but a good portion of that has been that it has been my lowest level (of the 3 combat styles). My current goal for ranged is a even 70 (I don't know why I chose that level). I usually train at the elemental wizards south of Falador for their frequent talisman and rune drops and low hits against range armor. Ranged is a low-priority skill for me, but I plan to start training it some more as I finish up some of my other goals.

Latest Level:

( 60 )

For awhile, magic was my primary combat style with my discovery of Fist of Guthix early on. I switch to melee after being slaughtered by Elvarg when trying to complete Dragon Slayer with magic (big mistake). I usually train magic by casting superheat ore on either ores I mine, or if I am just training magic, I will buy all the ores and make mithril bars. I don't make much of a profit with mithril bars, but I do make some and I get both magic and smithing experience. My current goal for magic is 70 because, like ranged, it just seems like a nice, even number. It also might be useful if Jagex re-balances the combat triangle.

Latest Level:

( 67 )

Prayer is my lowest skill and is the only one under level 50, and as such, my goal for it is level 50. I currently have all the bones needed for 50 and I am planning to bury them all once I hit 999 total to have 50+ in all skills and 1000 total levels.

Latest Level:

( 46 ) | ( 47 ) | ( 48 )

Non-Combat Skill Goals:

Firemaking is my favorate skill and I am trying to train it to level 99 currently. My plan is just light maple logs until 99, because they provide a good exp rate while still being within a decent price range. I have figured that it will cost me about 1.6 million to raise it from 90 to 99. I usually train it at the Wilderness Volcano because it is rarely used for firemaking, while not being too crowded from other people. A lot of clans come through though.

Latest Level:

( 81 ) | ( 82 ) | ( 83 ) | ( 84 ) | ( 85 ) | ( 86 ) | ( 87 ) | ( 88 ) | ( 89 )

My second favorate skill would have to be cooking. I am also going for 99 in it, hoping for a dual 99 in Firemaking and Cooking. I cook tuna to train Cooking, usually at the Grand Exchange.

Latest Level:

( 66 ) | ( 67 ) | ( 68 ) | ( 69 ) | ( 70 ) | ( 72 ) | ( 73 ) | ( 75 ) | ( 76 ) | ( 77 ) | ( 78 )

While not in my top 3, fishing is a skill that I enjoy doing when I am not completely focused. To train, while it is not the fastest method, I usually fish for swordfish (and tuna) with the Fist of Guthix swordfish gloves. This earns me a good amount of money while still giving a decent exp rate. For lack of other locations, I can be found fishing on Musa Point, usually with my public off (the people there are usually not the nicest bunch). My current goal for fishing is just an even 70, as many people have told me that around there is noticable difference in the catch rate.

Latest Level:

( 63 ) | ( 64 ) | ( 65 )

Mining would have to be my 3rd favorate skill (funny since its partner, smithing, was my least favorate skill for awhile). To train, I usually mine iron and coal in the mining guild and dwarven mines. From there I usually superheat them into bars before selling them, which earns me a decent amount of cash (more logs to burn, he he he... aware.gif ). I like mining because it requires more attention than some of the other resource gathering skills, while still allowing me to relax. I am currently trying to get my mining to 70 so I can mine adamant.

Latest Level:

( 63 )

Woodcutting was another of my favorate skills for awhile, mainly because it was my primary source of logs for firemaking. But when willows stopped becoming decent exp, I stopped woodcutting for a time. I don't really have a goal for woodcutting right now, because it is at a decent level for cutting yews. If I am training to try to raise its level, I usually powercut willows on Mudskipper Point, but if I just want some money, I will usually cut Yews south of Edgeville. It is sometimes really crowded, but not as much as the Yews near the Varrok Palace. I tend not to cut Yews very much though for consistant profit, usually to just get a little more money to get to that next million.

Latest Level:

I recently achieved my goal of 50 crafting, and now I am taking a break from it. When I do train it, I have been making hardleather bodies (anyone have a better training method?) at the crafting guild. When I do start training it again, I will probably train it to 60 for when I push to get all my skills above 60.

Latest Level:

( 48 ) | ( 49 )

Smithing, until recently, was my least favorate skill. But now since I can mine things at a decent rate and I discovered the wonders of the superheat ore spell, I have come to enjoy smithing a lot more. My primary way to train smithing is to simply buy enough ore and runes to cast tons of superheat ore and make tons of mithril bars. As stated in the magic section, this doesn't earn me much money, but it gives fairly good experience at little cost to me. But I also just use many of the ores I mine to raise my smithing level further. My long-term goal for smithing would be to get 70 smithing, to be able to superheat adamant bars, and I will slowly work my way to that and then to 85 for runite bars (big money maker there). I usually use the furnace in Al-Kharid, or simply the superheat item spell at the G.E. and I use the anvils near the West Varrok bank.

Runecrafting is a skill which I find...how should I put this? Kinda boring? For freeplay all it is is run back and forth over and over (and over and over) again. But because of this I find it another good skill for me to train if I don't want to think. My last goal was a simple 50 to get into the RC guild. Now it is 55 so I can make the x6 air runes per essence. To train I run air runes with FoG gloves. It isn't as good exp as earths, but it gets me a fair amount of cash. I don't bother getting the GOP tele-tabs because I do not care for GOP very much.

I accidently submitted it when I ment to preview it - it isn't completely done (it will look much better when it is).

Good luck on the log, I support biggrin.gif

Finally finished the basic outline of the log - any suggestions on any other sections would be a great help. Also, if someone could help me make some banners for the log, I am not quite sure how to go about doing that. I haven't been able to get on much lately (because of school and homework), but I was able to get 51 Smithing. I know that is kinda noobish, but smithing is one of my least-trained skills.
Kesthetic
Nice log looks quite neat and orgainzed. I like how you put information about each skill and goals. G'luck with 99 Fm and all your other goals. Check out my log. Support. happy.gif .
Pack Fo Real
Nice log, loved the little reads biggrin.gif Good luck with all your goals, I support you! smile.gif
Dimosthimise
Hit 66 defense today. I have been working on more banners like the firemaking one I have up, and I am trying to get them done as fast as possible.

UPDATE: I also got 52 smithing and 67 magic.
Loops
I put your birthday on my log, look under Last 10 Days of Runescape.

Woo yay.gif yay.gif Go you!
i am in roughly the same situation, but with lower levels, and I really want 50 RC for the guild and level 50 smith for the mith. then I can power train smith-yeah!
Thanks a lot, you have inspired me smile.gif

Oh, and by the way, I hadn't thought of the superheat ore --> Moneymaking --> Magic making ---> Smith xp Idea. thnaks, else I wouldn't have known how to train smith once I got to 50 (yes, smelt bars, but with too many coal it's not great and it's really dull, whereas if you can do it nesxt to a bank its easier.)

Any tips on Getting to level 55 mining, then 60 (for mith, then guild)?

I would go powermine iron, but you can bank it if you want the money. I am trying to get a few new screenshots up, but I have been busy and haven't had much time to figure out the problem on my computor.

Great fm level, keep it up, and 53 RC in F2P, very nice!!

But how is ranged your least favorite?!!?!??!?!?!? smile.gif

Dimosthimise
Got cooking levels 71 (missed the screenshot for that one) and 72 the past few days, as well as ranged level 61. I have been busy in real life, so I haven't had as much time to play. The RuneAddict signitures are down, so a good amount of my goals are also down. Well, I plan to keep at cooking until 80 (with some breaks on other skills) and then it will be back to firemaking.

Three words: Picking up arrows. I really find it kind of annoying. I like ranging, but I like melee and magic better.
Paladin
Your levels aren't half bad, good luck with your goals to... something.
Dimosthimise
Just hit 67 Defense and 71 Hitpoints today while training on spiders, raising me to combat 86! I got those screenshots and a few others, and I am working on some more banners for the different headings. I am planning to add a few more sections here in the near future.

Thanks a lot, but I kinda cheated when initially making it - my friend created an editor that just allowed me to put what I wanted into a field and converted it to BBcode (but everything after that initial part I have done raw coding). Just bought all the maples to make my push for 90 firemaking and I have a new goal of 95 firemaking and 95 cooking by the end of the year. I hope to have a double 99 party by at least Feburary! But anyway I am approaching 1,000 total (all f2p) skills and I will have a party then. I will set a date when I get closer to achieving it! Thanks for reading!

I haven't been able to get on much recently, so no new levels yet. I am going to a wedding all this weekend, so I won't be on much (if at all). I am predicting 88 firemaking by the end of next week, and 90 by Thanksgiving weekend (I will have a 4 day weekend - a lot of fires evil.gif ). I haven't been able to acess my back-up log, so the new sections that I am working on will have to be postponed.

Thanks for reading!

Just got back from the trip - but I have midterms this week, so I still won't be able to get on very much (but come next weekend, I will be able to get on a lot more). I will add people to the support list as soon as I can access my normal computor with my back-up coding on it. Thanks for the support! (I have bug bites all over me and they are driving me crazy)

Well, I added a few new sections to my log, but I haven't finished all the banners yet. I finally got 88 Firemaking though today with my first real period of free time in about 2 weeks!

Well, thanks for reading my log! Also, PM me on Sal's if you want me to add your log to my list.

Oh and by the way "Grammer" is spelt "Grammar" in the UK. Unless you are from America, in which case I don't know how it is spelt rolleyes.gif .
I'm from Britain, which is why I don't understand the way some people spell in articles on the Runescape Wiki (especially seeing that Runescape is a British game... dry.gif )

YAY Dimos!!!!! 90 is just around the corner. cool.gif

And in response to Helm360, Grammar is spelled just that, Grammar - universal English.

You'll get 90 firemaking soon biggrin.gif. Good luck, much support.

Still burning to 90 - just 5k logs left (ok, thats only half, but still). After a random I was able to get 47 prayer though:

Now just 3 more levels and I will have all f2p levels 50+.

Finally hit 89 firemaking today:

By the time I hit 90, I will have the 12.5 million exp. total needed for the Runescape Forums. Once I get 90 firemaking, I will then focus on 90 cooking, which that will put me past my goal of 1000 levels total.

No firemaking 90 today (but I should hit it tomorrow; 1k more maples to burn), but I have hit my goal of 12.5 million total exp for the Official Runescape Forums! My plan is to get 90 Firemaking, then train cooking to 83, and finally get my prayer to 49 and then to 50 during my total levels 1000 and all freeplay skills 50+ party (which will probably be somewhere mid-December).

Thanks for reading!

Scratch what I said about getting it tomorow - I had a more free day than I thought! So I got (finaly) 90 Firemaking!

I have hit a snag as I will not be able to start cooking because currently most of my cash is invested in clay, so I cannot buy anything until about Monday. So until then, I am going to just train melee on Ice Giants to get some prayer exp.

Thanks for reading!
