@below - well he is asking to be promoted (i really 1nt to be 1 ha ha ha but ser1ously ). Let's not dwell on this, shall we?
There's nothing wrong with saying you want to be one. Haha. Lots of people hint at that through the way they post, I can think of a couple of people off of the top of my head who imply they want to be one. It's only a problem if they ask to be one.
I know you'd love to be a dm
Post in areas of the forum where mods and admins dwell, this means don't ever post in anything to do with runescape, the scape lounge or the newspaper forums.
You're probably half-joking, but you've actually got a good point there. The 'Scape Lounge is actually a good place to get yourself noticed by the mods/admins, but the Debate Room and General Chat are probably by far the best places fitting that category. And yeah, most of the old-school staff avoids the RuneScape section like the plague, being the filthy hypocritical apostates that they are, so it's not really a good place to be noticed.
I know it sounds bad and all, me saying this, but it's not as if the staff doesn't WANT new DMs. We do, definitely. And obviously it's terrible to act a way that isn't really you just to get promoted, but acting the way you naturally do in the full consciousness that you may be on the "potential DM list" - well, there's nothing wrong with that.

It's always sad when the staff misses someone who deserves a rank because they haven't been noticed enough (though activity is a hugely important factor, so in most cases they probably wouldn't have been promoted anyway).
