Right. Here goes...

- Should be a full stop after RuneScape (Petty I know! But still)
- Overhead text should be further up
- Very, very basic
- missed out cursor in chatbar

- Character seems to be well cut out (Few white bits but I'm assuming they're part of your Legends cape)
- Original... I suppose

For a third fake I suppose it's not so bad. It's well done apart from a few minor flaws. But to be honest due to its simplicity these flaws can stand out and really shouldn't be made when you're not attempting anything else in the fake extravagant.

So my advice to you is to make sure you're getting all the small details correct (which you almost are) at this level of simple fakes before you move onto perhaps a more difficult one (which I'd suggest doing next)

7/10.

OH MAI GAWD!!! DA SCOTSMAN RETURNS!!!

Heh. I just had to do that. smile.gif

Anyways, didn't Jagex make the cursor thingy in chatbox a blinking line? Couldn't hypothetically the screenshot have been taken when the line had blinked out?

-1, maybe -1.5, because Jagex usually has perfect grammar with chatboxes. Misspellings and structural mistakes are rare, and Jagex almost never forgets three periods. Sorry, but...
-1 As Da Epicly Legendary Most Highly Faking Master Scotsman pointed out, the spoken text should be a tad bit higher. Also, there's no shadow on the"r" in "great." Did they re-introduce the black shadow thing on text yet? I forget. I don't get on RuneScape that much nowadays.
-0 This isn't all that original--Chaoss did a fake like this, except he had that disk of returning or whatnot, but it broke so he was stuck just like you were. Then again, it's an okay fake. Nice work.
-1 Kinda easy. Make the entire screen black except around your character, add text and chatbox, voila. There's also not much storyline--Jagex all of a sudden decides to test the Black Hole on a player for no reason? In Chaoss' fake, he had broken some rule and Jagex decided to revert back to the old punishment system for players.

7/10 BTW, if I accidentally took off points where I shouldn't, please feel free to correct me. My presence on modern RuneScape is next to nil.

Made a couple of improvements.

And this idea was already used? Whoops, sorry it was just the first thing that popped into my head. tongue.gif

Hai there. smile.gif

Yeah I've been kicking around a bit more lately. It's funny I was thinking that myself just after I made my post but thought I'd already posted and couldn't be bothered editing it... and anyone no one will think of that anyway...

Foiled again by those dastardly kids... and Mr. E tongue.gif

Your improvements only make it worse, sorry to say it slanty.gif
The shadow of the overhead text should be one pixel to the right.
The commas and points could be pixeled instead of typing it in a font.
Mybe you should add some inventory items, or make the minimap look like a real "black hole" instead of just black wink.gif

Why can't he use a font for it? My font has the correct commas/punctuation/ASCII slanty.gif

Yanno, yours was the first faking gallery I ever saw. Thou truly art the master. (Although Beret, Kev/The Faker, Wolfiemario, and others might also campaign for the spot.)

Back on-topic: the commas were kinda failed, sorry. They aren't that big in-game--try to get an in-game message with a comma, or log on and say a sentence with a comma with it. Clear away areas around the comma so there's just white space, copy and paste the comma into the "old" version of the fake (and if you chose option two, recolor the comma to black), and post it as a "Version 3" or "Version 2.0.1" or whatever. Also, Jagex never ever ever EVER ends a line with a comma. Instead of saying
You have been chosen to test the black hole,
As we will be re-opening it soon,
Have fun testing!

They'd say

You have been chosen to test the black hole, as we will be re-opening it soon.
Have fun testing!

The only time when Jagex takes up two lines for one sentence and consequently ends a line with a comma or with no punctuation whatsoever is when they run out of room and must take it to the next line, and then not so often at that, I don't think. Maybe one or two specimens of that in the game. And even if it is legit, a whole bunch of noobs will probably flame you for making an error.

So, in conclusion, just end lines with periods and double-check your grammar. You raised the text a bit, but the chatbox sorta negated that out, so I'll stick with my original rating. Just clean up the minor flaws and Voila! Suddenly fakers beg to join your fan club! aware.gif Well, not really, but you'll get really high ratings...

Yeah, that does happen a few times, such as attempting to expel people from a house when you're not in one. "You are not in a house. You can't expel people from the world, even if you don't like" "them!"
Note that if you do that on tutorial island, your chatbox will only say "them!" due to the chatbox functioning differently there

As for the fake:
The font's very outdated, your character seems too small, as Mr. E said, the grammar/syntax is irregular, and you should have removed the magic tab (else you can just home teleport out ). This certainly isn't the first time someone's made a black hole fake (I've seen at least three pfft.gif), but I guess it's not really your fault if you didn't know
guthix scape
honestly i dont like it, all you did was cut and paste your guy and put him in a black background, then added some text.
3/10 sorry man

Heh. I know how it works on noob island, but I'd never considered that. Also, during the Cold War quest or one of the sequels, I think it happens, I saw it somewhere.

I never thought of removing the magic tab. If you go to The Group Faking Kit 2.0, there are things for blank tabs and such. It may not have the most recent tabs (notes and that other one), but it certainly has magic. You know, Jagex used to just remove your law runes--they didn't have home teleports then. Well, maybe Jagex screwed up? Perhaps you make a sequel where your character escapes?

I've only seen Chaoss' one, where his character tried to throw the Disk of Returning but it broke. Wasn't it Chaoss who did that?

I can see why many people have done this kind of fake--it's kinda easy, although you're gonna get a lower rating unless you add a twist. Make an animation/sequel with the "Home Teleport Loophole?" Discover that someone had dropped a Disk of Returning in there? (Actually, there was a big scam going on where people were persuaded to drop their Disks of Returning while in the "simulation version" that was made to let people experience it without having to break a rule. Lots of people got stuck in there, because stuff dropped in the black hold disappears. But still...) Find the light at the end of the tunnel? All of a sudden, get a few thousand noobs, flamers, nachos clones, and other RuneScape bad guys for company? Show a Jagex moderator laughing his @#$ off at "some noob that I got stuck in the black hole"? Discovering that you just had closed your eyes? The list of possibilities is endless here! Capitalize on it, my man!

I don't care if someone has made it before, I can about how good the fake is executed.

Why is it such a problem to people?

I have seen others (such as Chaoss's) that are better executed, however. The other two I've seen are really old - one by Goldyrocks (Zybez), and one I can't even find anymore pfft.gif
Actually, I'm not sure why I mentioned that I've seen it done before, it doesn't really bother me either tongue.gif
If I did a formal rating, don't worry, I wouldn't take off points for something trivial like that tongue.gif
(Quite to the contrary - I get very annoyed whenever I see something like "-2 for unoriginality", especially when the faker says they don't know whether it's been done before. An idea can't really be unoriginal if the person hasn't seen it done before slanty.gif)

I wasn't talking to you specifically WolfieMario, in general.

The commas are a little bold, but if you seen my rating system, I just put positive comments.

Nice cropping of character.

Keep faking smile.gif.

i actualy laughed when i saw this happy.gif (dunno why exactly...) and snorted water all over everything... anyway, its really well done! i cant see any noticable flaws, (except the chatbox but you explained that).

Well, like the fakes with all 99's in every skill, it gets old. Much of the fake is the idea, you know, even though good faking will save an old idea, but bad faking will take down every good idea you throw at it. Despite that, something new and exiting makes for a better fake. Has anyone done a "Faking is against the rules" prank other than Wolfie? How about an omni-teleport glitch? Those kinds of things are what make for good fakes--an overused idea may be a sign that the faker is unoriginal.

Yeah, "-2 for unoriginality" is kinda nuts (note that I said "-0"), especially if the fake hasn't been done before, but I'd still mention the unoriginality thing, although not necessarily with a negative rating.
