Okay I'm new to this forum section, never ever posted here before. Anyway -
I'm looking at getting an iPod Touch towards the end of the year, and I was just wondering whether you lot thought it was worth the money. I'm talking about the 32gb model that they're doing on the 3rd Generation model, if you wanted to know.
Thanks in advance :3

Definitely buy it. It's amazing for internet, video, and music. And to add on, it's pretty light weight. I completely reccomend buying it

I think you should get the refurb 32gb 2nd gen
or if in dec-jan, the refurb 3rd gen.

If the 3rd gen scratches less I'll probably buy that. Looks less messy really.
But if it's generally the same as the 2nd gen I'd probably get that, since I don't think gen 3 is out yet and gen 2 32gb is like £190

I waited for Apple to start selling the first gen 16gb refurbished, and I saved $100 going that way.

Of course someone broke the screen by knocking it off the table and running on it. And they still haven't payed me back.
I think refurb is the way to go. But yes an ipod touch is worth the money, especially since the storage is getting bigger.

The screen isn't going to scratch, but the back might if they do the reflective aluminum like in the 2G. If they go with the iPhone styled back then it won't scratch. Even then you will probably have a case of some sort on it.
And yes, the iPod Touch/iPhones are amazing.

The iPod Touch is definitely worth the money in my opinion. I would like to recommend the Zune HD, though. As to which is better, it's really down to preference and what you're using it for. The Zune HD wins easily as the ultimate personal music and video player, but it's horrible if you want to have fun with apps. A lot of people prefer the iPod Touch, some because they like it better, some out of some sort of loyalty to Apple, but the Zune HD has made even the most diehard Apple users look twice.
For a more in-depth review, try this:
http://reviews.digitaltrends.com/guide/303...pple-ipod-touchOf course, both are easily worth the money, and very cool things to have.

Ipod touch has alot of features (Safari, Tons of Apps) and you should get it but if you feel like getting something else there's the Zune Hd like Yippee said.

Yea but the Zune HD didn't really live up to what it was made out to be. Not to mention the browser is garbage.

iPod touch owns all the way.
Although 32GB is like way too much storage. I'd look for a 2G 16GB or 8GB, but that's personal choice.

Again, it depends on what you're doing with it. For just music, 8 gigabytes is more than enough, but I have a Zune 30, and I wouldn't be able to fit all my crap into even 16 gb.

Unless you wanna dump 40 movies on it, go for 8GB. It's perfectly fine, and I'm just over halfway my capacity right now with a good amounts of apps, south park episodes and music.

As I do have a spazztic mother, I love mine. My friend got the new 3g 32gb and it's quite thin. Web browsing is wonderful (I use it at work) and the ipod was my companion on the way to 85 mining (PowerMining).
I'd place the iPod on my screen and the case made it stick to the screen (sort of). I'd watch movies on my iPod and the time would pass.

Thanks alot everyone. I've settled on a 16gb one for when I get it, since as my family has about 32 gig of music, there's no point putting all of it on there since I would only listen to about 25% of it.
I'd like to put a few movies on though. Riz sounds like he was on to something lol

Honestly, I would go for the 32 gig (latest generation) than the 16 gig (last generation) because they are the exact same price.

Do you have a link for that price??
It seems as though 16 gigs are about £40-£50 cheaper

Whoops, it must have been a special deal in my area. The 16 gig is only about 30 dollars cheaper than the 32 gig, but 30 dollars for double the space? It's still an incredible deal, and besides, you'd never run out of space.

http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/spec...mco=MTA4MTYxMjQRefurbished ones are way cheaper and almost the same quality. If I had the chance, I'd go for one of those.

I'd go for a 3G one if you can - they're faster than the 2G ones. It'll be a lot more enjoyable when playing games and doing everything else.
If it were me getting one, I'd have to go for a 32GB 3G one to replace my 8GB 1G Touch. That would have room for some of my music, some videos and enough applications.

30 dollars = £20 ish...
Thanks for the link Fini, because the refurbed one of the 32 gig is only £180 leaving me with a little bit of money to put in the bank/buy music with.
I have a budget of £200, so getting a new one would mean getting an 8/16gb one

Nanos are mp3 players. An iPod touch is a portable computer. It's a gaming device, with wi-fi, and a lot of capabilities. I would never prefer a nano over an iPod touch.

No one here stating it doesnt have Flash?
Because thats how it is.
You cant see all content on internet, no Flash showing the Ads or to play games.
Thats a reason you cant call it best for internet of handheld devices.
Some sites are even Flash-based.
I wouldnt call the ipod touch a portable computer, it only has 256Mb Ram... remember that there is many powerful devices, like the Omnia HD, its a phone, with the same specs as iphone and ipod touch. Still its called phone.
Though when it comes up to 1Gb RAM in a small device, its talk about a Pocket PC, thats an own group, often WM phones. Portable computer is the thing you would call a laptop..

I recently got an iPod touch (not like I told you repeatedly), and it's worth getting, definitely.
Getting it is definitely worth the money, and any extra money you spend on apps too.

Mine has Flash. I can watch almost any Flash based video.
Not sure about game flash, though.

There's no point getting a new Nano when I have a 2g Nano which still works just fine.
That said it's only 4 gig, and that's my justification for getting an iPod Touch, especially since it will be uber helpful in Thailand next year.

That's because you never looked for a way to install Flash.
Like redmonke, I can watch flash videos on a lot of sites, games don't work though.

I've just got a ipod touch 8GB preowned off ebay.
best music player, portible gaming device iv'e bought. keep in mind ive only bought a gameboy,DS,gameboy SP. ive bought two mp3's a base and a touch base.pretty much base was a mix between a nano and a classic and a touch was an epic fail attempt at a ipod touch. The power can be a bit annoying but there are ways to get past that, such as
http://store.apple.com/au/product/TR823LL/...mp;s=topSellersand
http://store.apple.com/au/product/TS815LL/...mp;s=topSellersthere use to be a case which DOUBLES your life but its only for the iphone now =[
anyway be excited, try to get it cheap, and make sure you get warrenty if possible because ,believe me, the battery does die eventuly. i have not too much music but 1GB worth and a tun of apps and havnt even got half way yet. photos not a worry, ive heard great things from zune, but ive got Ipod so too late. and for all you apple fans i love microsoft too death. so im not a fanboy, god i even try to cover it up sometimes. trying to use another way to explain this but its all extremly racist...just go and but one and don't look back!
