Discuss F1 2009 here.

Hamilton won the Singapore GP but Brawn are one race away from a certain Driver's Championship...who is your bet for the title? Mine's Button for obvious reasons tongue.gif
Micael Fatia
F1 lost a lot of credibility because of the recent scandals involving Briatore and Renault and personally I think F1 lost its spark of excitement when Schumacher retired in 2006.
_Ej
Brawn 100% for the drivers championship, they'd be fools to lose it now.
As for the drivers, I think button will be clinging on to it at the end by his finger nails, the last race of the season could be a damn good one.

Indeed, shame it's at such a droll course...I wish they'd end it in Japan or Brazil like normal sad.gif

@Micael: double standard ftl...Schumacher cheated regularly, more often than Renault has...using underhanded tactics and rash driving technique.
Goggie
Meh, Schumacher was still exciting. I admit I was pretty shocked when they asked Barrichello to slow down at the end of the race to let him win, but F1 was more exciting for me back then. Maybe I just grew out of it ohmy.gif
D-Jizzy
Rubens still moans about that shizzle.

But he's #2 in the driver's standings...
Micael Fatia
So Fernando Alonso signed a three year contract with Ferrari. I wonder what's going to happen to Raikkonen now.

He might stay, Massa may get the boot though. But Raikkonen should go, he's useless.
_Ej
Raikkonen is going back to McLaren so I've heard? I also heard Kovelinan (sp?) is going to Force India, which I can imagine, but then who's filling Alonso's seat at Renault? Then we have Rubens, he could be going anywhere. But then we have the new teams, I would love to see one of the big names go to Lotus so they aren't one of the back runners all season. I can't wait to find out all of this biggrin.gif.

I'm quite the opposite.

Didn't you find it incredibly boring when one person dominated most of the races? Wouldn't you rather watch the heat of tough competition and not knowing the champion till the final race? To me the later is far more exciting than the former.

I'm with Scotsman on this, when Schumacher was winning race after race it was just dull. It was like there were two mini leagues, Schumacher's, and everyone else's.

It was like watching two races at the price of one! Now don't tell me it was dull to see two races at once! biggrin.gif

TAKE THAT BACK NOW OR ELSE

Yes. Next year will probably be the first year I won't follow Ferrari as closely. Thpppppt.

Rash driving technique != cheating (unless you're talking of, say, Jerez '96, in which case you're right).

Remind me how much of a chance the other teams had, again?

People actually watch/care about Formula 1?!

I suppose it's better than NASCAR but all auto racing is a complete waste of time.

Not if you're a big car fan like I am.
Tim
What is so entertaining about it?
D-Jizzy
The action. The cars running close together at high speeds, possibly colliding at any given second, and the efficiency of it all.

No Micael. Rubens Barrichello is a big crybaby.

Who seriously thinks at this point that Button won't win the title?

A LOT considering he won the championship in the final race. Hardly a run away lead...

Edit: bleh.gif Beaten to it

You say that only because he's Castillian and not Portuguese. cute.png

Nobody, unless he pulls a Stoner. (Casey, that is).

JENSON JENSON JENSON FUDGE YEAH

I knew he'd do it biggrin.gif

I had the biggest grin evar when I read the news tbh.
I Like Pie739
Jenson won! Cool to see that a new team actually won the title this year. Barrichello is a bit old, but it would've been cool to see him win as the oldest guy on the track.
D-Jizzy
Rubens is too whiny, imo. I think Jenson's had this coming for a long time though, honestly.
