OK, so I want a piano keyboard and/or bass guitar. I made up my mind on which type of instruments to get, but don't have experience picking musical instruments. I didn't think that this belonged in Tech Talk, because strictly speaking, it's not electronics-related.

Anyway. I want just a basic keyboard, but one that will last and has good quality. I don't care about extra features that I'll never use, like 1000+ different types of piano sounds- I'll never use a harpsichord- but I want good sound quality.

Same with a bass guitar. I need an amp and something to accurately tune it with, as I don't have the skill to tune it by ear.

Also, I plan on buying any instrument(s) off of Amazon, so any help here would be hot, as long as it's relative.

Try musiciansfriend.com for instruments. I know that it's great for guitars, and it's probably great for keyboards as well. Just a suggestion, though - don't get a bass unless you're absolutely sure that you're going to play in a band. Being a bass player is great if you're in a band, but it's pretty boring when you're on your own. If you expect to play on your own a lot, go with a guitar.

Bundle packs are pretty useful. You won't get the best quality of instruments, but that shouldn't matter unless you're a professional or an audiophile.

If you are buying a bass guitar, I would recommend going down to any local music store and asking for the starter kit. Bass, amp, cables, tuner, and all relatively cheap as well. I think that would be the best deal you could get.

Thanks for the advice. Especially in the recession, I'm sure I could finagle my way to a good deal face-to-face. I'm good at bartering wink.gif
It's just that Amazon has good deals on unused merchandise, so it's the first place I turn. I don't have a bunch of money, so if it's bought online, my parents will pay for it.
