Do you prefer roleplay style games that have specific classes, like mage, priest, etc, or games where you modify stats/abilities however you like, allowing you to customize your character to your style of play?
I prefer without, because it allows me to put more into my character rather than focusing on say, spellpower.
I think shared stats like haste, stamina, etc are the way to go, and the other stats just grow as you wish.

I definitely prefer without, because it takes me a while of playing to decide which combat style I prefer in each game anyway, so I can't really choose well when I first make the account. I also prefer the flexibility should I change my mind about combat later.

I like a hybrid. I like specific classes that can only do certain things, but there should also be a whole "grab bag" of non-combat or indirectly combat related skills to choose from as well, and not just fighter, mage, STR, INT, and HP

. Runescape succeeds at this nicely, as well as the one that started it all, Dungeons & Dragons.

What if a game had no class system, yet had abilities that needed certain stats, meaning i couldn't get rogue stealth(gay name lol) unless i had x agility and awareness?

Iffy. If Your agility and awareness is of equal importance for
all characters, then yank the class system. Otherwise keep it. Maybe get rid of, or modify, the agility and awareness stats, since they're too situation-specific. The game
Diablo did a good job on acquiring this synergy. Even
mages needed to put a few points in the strength attribute.

I like classes. Though I only like classes that mean something beyond stat modifiers and weapon choices. Then there really isn't any difference.
I just think classes are fun.

i just think classes are better since it requires more team play than without where(like in RS) you can have an absolute elite character

In games where I spend most of the time in one on one combat, I find without is much better. Example: RuneScape
In games where I can control multiple characters, I prefer it with classes. Example: Final Fantasy Tactics

I prefer games with that let you have multiple characters and a good fast leveling system with a lot to do at end game. Many RPGs miss this, and have slow as all hell leveling systems.
