Honestly I liked the ludicrous nature of the film as usual.

Can't really say much without spoiling it.

I detest Michael Moore. All he does is bother people.
Vera
After watching his CNN interview supporting this, I can only conclude that Moore is a cabbage-lover who doesn't know anything about economics. He doesn't even give a good answer to what should be in place instead of capitalism.

He says democracy as opposed to capitalism. Although it really doesn't make sense.

From the sound of a review, it's an inane rant that makes good points, but in a snarky way and without providing adequate backup reasoning, to say nothing of a better potential system.

Michael Moore is an enlightened windbag. I dislike him.

You realize that's the reason I hate reviews? People base their opinions off of them slanty.gif. I can't count the number of movies that got good reviews that were crap and vice versa.

And yes, I agree he is an enlightened windbag.

Democracy = an element of government, usually related to a repulic. Democracy in America is when we vote, and the democratic republic is that we vote for representatives. Democracy is not bound to any specific economy. Democratic socialism, democratic capitalism, even democratic communism, can all function. Saying "democracy instead of capitalism" says absolutely nothing about how this envisioned economy would work.

Ok then I'll spoil one of his proposals.
Get the banks out of the government.
Vera
Yes - that's a specific point. But as a whole, he can't describe his system. Would it be socialism? Communism? Another form of capitalism? "A democracy with Christian morals" is not an economic system.

Ehh, he's a pretty fair reviewer (Eric D. Snider) - he dislikes a lot of documentary premises and gives them good marks, and the reverse. The thing is that in reviewing a documentary, how well a point is made mattered. If he makes his point badly, it's a bad movie. Period.

And I'm not going to waste my money seeing the movie, so I read a review instead so I can at least know the very basics of what happens so as to be able to carry on a semi-intelligent conversation (such as this one tongue.gif). Better than nothing, no? There's no way I would have seen this one when I haven't even taken time out to see something genuinely fun like Clouds With A Chance of Spaghetti.

Socialist Democratic was what I got from it.

Honestly, if you're going to be too lazy too spend money at least download it tongue.gif.
D-Jizzy
What? Socialist Democratic political system? What time is Moore dropping out of, 1895?

The US has been a socialist democratic state for about seventy fudgeing years now.

I like Michael Moore even though he always puts a massivly biased touch on his films.

The point is that I'm not interested and I don't want to spend two hours watching it, not that I don't want to spend money. tongue.gif

But the concept is interesting, if not enough to burn all that time.
Adam?
I agree with Michael Moore, Capitalism goes against Democracy!

So I am going to pirate this movie.

i see what you did there, lol

well since it is "a love story". i would imagine he just wants a "better" form of capitalism.
D-Jizzy
Which is probably a super-regulated form of it.

Which flies in the face of everything sane, in my opinion. As with everything Michael Moore says.
Ph201
I will enjoy seeing it. I like rebellion.

It won't do anything significant except get money through the Capitalist system.

Irony.
