Basically whenever I switch between a tab to the RuneScape tab the screen flashes for like 10 seconds which is becoming increasingly aggravating, anyone know a way to fix this because so far it's the ONLY site that does this.

Try it out with some other java games (funorb maybe) and see if it does that. Then try updating the java.

It may just be a problem with chrome and your java, does it do that with any other browser?

Works fine on Fuborb.

Also the Java was updated last week unless something new came out since then?

Does it in Safari too.

I have no problems in any browser...

What hardware are you using? Some lower-end hardware just can't cope with swapping tabs when you're in HD.

No clue to be honest. This laptop was made last year if that helps.

I was getting that alot, not sure of any way to get round it while using Chrome. It was enough to make me go back to Swiftkit closedeyes.gif

Happened to me at 2:00 AM, after reading about the Grudge, and it didn't stop until restart. xd.gif

it is why jagex gives the advice to open runescape in a different screen without tabs

it is a problem with the java applet so it doesn't matter which browser you use

I tried the windows client and every time i minimize the window the game turns blank, with swiftkit, my computer crashes all the time, with chrome, sometimes it flashes white, but nothing rather worse than annoying.

Start > Run > dxdiag.exe

Take a screenshot of the first and second tabs of that program, or just tell us what information is in each. That will give us the basic hardware details.

Oh that happens to me too. Nothing to prevent it I think. pfft.gif

I think Cattiius meant the first and third tab, so you can take out all those screenies tongue.gif

Amg sorry. I'm using Windows 7 and I think it must use a different version of dxdiag.exe, because my tabs are really different sad.gif

Anyway, I'm a bit surprised. Considering the problems you're having I was expecting a lower spec, for playing Runescape in HD your processor and RAM are easily capable enough. Admittedly your graphics chipset is quite poor, but it should still be able to cope with Runescape...

You mentioned the problem happened in Chrome and Safari, could you try any other browsers? Also, does the problem also happen when you're in standard detail? I expect it won't, in which case it's probably some sort of graphics problem...Are your graphics drivers up to date? If you go into Device Manager (should be in All Programs > Administrative Tools I think, it's been a long time since I last used XP tongue.gif), right-click Properties on your graphics chipset and click the Update Driver button, Windows will search for any newer drivers.

DX diag in XP does virtually nothing....

Device manager is possibly a better option to go with...but that would need you to open quite a few sub boxes up.

im a strong beliver in chrome and all thing google, the only problem i've had is when i clicked in game, i couldnt rotate the screen till i clicked again,

GC has a hidden updater built in meaning it updates without you knowing, there is a good chance that they are working on it to run smoother,

saying that though, i run vista with really upto date java software, every time it runs it asks me to varify i wanna run it... that could be something thats diffrent as well

It gives you basic hardware details, which was all I wanted at the time.

People have reported this problem from many different browsers, it's generally the fault of the hardware/drivers rather than the browser. Also, advising someone to swap from Chrome to something like IE8 is like...telling someone with washing machine problems to go back to using soapy water and a mangle tongue.gif
