In my school you will not be called a nerd just, someone with bad taste in games. For example if you tell someone that you play rune scape they will say "why do you play runescape?" XD but, most people don't really care as long as you don't talk about it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

It just doesn't come up in conversation with my friends, and people still get bullied in my year for playing Online Games. Stupid really, since everyone I know plays Xbox/PS3 for around the same amount of time that I play Runescape, yet I would get the stick and they wouldn't

I don't usually tell people, except a group of close friends and I sometimes have a little chat about it at Lunch or something when there's nothing to mock really.
But no, I don't get called a nerd for that. I get called a nerd for being generally good at my subjects.

It actually has begun already, lol

. And I've never cared for people I don't care about's opinion about me.
But I agree with the point in your first post, my friend is on Ps3 for like 7 hours a day and is considered cool; another friend plays Runescape for 7 hours a day and is considered a geek. I like both the same really..

Yeah, only 3 people know.

Sometimes I wish it was more popular and I didn't have to dart my eyes around in every single direction before even saying 'Guthix' and then making it sound like we were talking about cars as soon as someone else joins the conversation.

I don't give a damn. I play a number of online games, and console games. I'm a gamer, or at least consider myself to be one. Sure I'm not going to tell people I play it outright. I tell people I do videos and give them my channel, but I mean really, I have freakin' LPs of Pokemon hacks up on my channel, exactly how much do you think I care of your opinion? If you're going to dislike me because of what I like then that only proves you are shallow.

I get stick for playing the wii, far too many sony fanboys in my year who moan about everything which doesn't have Playstation written over it.
I have kept runescape quiet for many years. Far too many absolute lies. Only a handful of people know that I used to play it a couple of years ago, but they think I quit. But it would not be a happy story telling people about it.

+1. If someone doesn't like me because of a game I like, then that person is an idiot, and I don't really want to be friends with the person, so I don't really care what the heck he thinks of me.
I don't hide the fact that I play RuneScape, but I don't brag about it either. If someone asks me what games I like, I tell them RuneScape, the LOZ series, and a few other ones. A couple friends of mine give me grief over being on the computer so much in general, but it's all in fun.
It might help things that I'm homeschooled, but I still have more friends than just about anyone at my church (yes, we have lots of real friends, and it's not the same as popularity), and I know a lot of people in other places as well, such as my basketball team. It also might help things that I can beat the crap out of just about anyone (if I wanted to. I don't, but people I don't know well enough to trust don't need to know that

), so people don't exactly go out of their way to make an enemy out of me.

I played WoW in grade 11 and 12 and was endlessly ridiculed for a week until i punched one of the guys out (for an unrelated matter) then every shut the fudge up.
I'de assume it would be equal to or worse though if i had ever played runescape.

Playing when your in your mid teens is another thing, and playing when your in university is another.

Though I do have a few really close friends that know, some of them actually have an account; don't play as much as me though.
Some kids started playing RuneScape in our library and almost died

I think that's all that needs to be said.

I haven't told anyone. If someone asked me if I played it, I'd tell them that I do.
I don't think it would cause much trouble... My friends would probably be the only ones to tease me about it, simply because people at my school tend to keep to their own group. My friends would probably tease me about it for a while, but it wouldn't be hatred or anything.
Only times I've heard "Runescape" said at my school is by my friend who said "That has almost as bad graphics as runescape!". But I don't think he would care much if I told him I played. He'd probably just wanna annoy me with the new knowledge
