Mr Grieves
I wanted to make a thread about some new films but I couldn't make one for each so I thought I'd just start a thread for talking about new movies in general.
I've always had 3 favourite directors and now all 3 of them have new films coming out, which is awesome.
Wes Anderson (who made cult classics like The Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limited and The Royal Tenenbaums) is releasing a stop motion version of the Dahl classic Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Terry Gilliam (the former Python member who did Fear And Loathing, Twelve Monkeys, Brazil and The Fisher King) is releasing The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus which looks stunning (and has Tom Waits in it!).
Finally, my all time favourite David Lynch (Eraserhead, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man) is producing a film by Werner Herzog called My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? which looks awesome.
I'm mega excited to see all 3 films, though I don't know if they'll beat a film I saw eariler this year called White Lightnin' as the best film I've seen this year.

Anyone excited for upcoming films?

I loved Fantastic Mr. Fox as a child, so I may go and see the movie. It looks cute.
Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus looks awesome, totally weird and wonderful. Being a Johnny Depp fan, I'll probably go see this. I wonder if Lily Cole is any good at acting.

I'm also looking forward to Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Lovely Bones, which is one of my favourite novels, as well as Tim Burton's adaption of Alice in Wonderland which I think comes out early next year.

That's only my favourite childhood book of all time.

I will be watching The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in the near future. It looks quite appealing.

Agreed with Gillis. I love that book and I've seen various visuals from the film, amazing.
